yea there is a good sale going on in Uk ,for the speakers plus onkyo amp.ill be gettin it from there.

How do u plan on bringing the stuff here? Have u accounted for customs and shipping cost?

For quality avoid Sony, panasonic, samsung, aiwa, philips, etc<o:p></o:p>
Better quality sys available in Pakistan are generally<o:p></o:p>
Onkyo : Off beat Lhr used to be a dealer, then ther is a shop at the corner of Shell pump in Liberty mkt lhr which was a dealer and kept quality stuff<o:p></o:p>
JBL : saw brand new packed sys at highvolts F-8 markaz Islamabad<o:p></o:p>
Bose, Carver and Jamo : there used to be a dealer at F-8 markaz<o:p></o:p>
though I never graded bose too high<o:p></o:p>
Clipsch : available in blue area islamabad<o:p></o:p>

For budget sys and adequate quality you can buy Yamaha or Pioneer .. Yamaha has same models in chinese as well as Malaysian assembled versions and there is a price difference in both .. I'm not aware of difference in their sound qualities<o:p></o:p>

A friend was selling Infinity sys with Yamaha reciever a while back in karachi .. I don't know if it is still avail ... sys was like new and price was around 50k .. the wattage was bare min don't remeber now but i think sub was 100-125 watts rms with sattelite speakers<o:p></o:p>

I am also selling my kenwood sys but generally people here put such remarks that I stopped putting its deatails, any how if interested i can email u the specs and pics<o:p></o:p>

For bose
there was a authorized dealer in F-8 markaz ... there is a front side of the market (where there is a boys school or college, a petrol pump and high-volts shop) the first set of shops after the pump facing double road in middle is an audio sys shop ... i hope it is still there ... been some years since i last visited it ... do remember bargaining is must.

Near duty free shop on blue area there area few audio shops check out if they are having some good sys ... again there prices are high

try pindi college road as well .. you never know what you might get in a good price

gotta agree with ahsen_rg, you need to increase your budget otherwise no point.

congrats on the onkyo receiver, my friend has one in pindi with 80 inch screen projector and its sound amazing! but you have to get proper speakers, i think he's got Jamo 7.1 speaker package.

i recommended Tannoy earlier, still do, lets see the pics anyway when you choose;) good luck

Can you tell us if you/your brother in law paid any duties and what freight was paid? My cousin just reached UK and if its feasible Ill ask him to bring some stuff

Mr.Zeeshan quoted me the price of this system Rs.35,000 and promised it to be at my doorstep in islamabad in a few days.
Waiting on it now, will post pics when i get it.
Looking at Klipsch speaker (5.1) set costing around 50K.

Any other speaker recommendations would be great and no Bose please , i have demoed several bose systems available in isb and klipsch etc sound better tbh.

@rana thanks for the input,i already got the harmon kardon speaker system.i would suggest jamo or harmon kardon.even klipsch is pretty good.you can choose either one of em.

i was getting onkyo speaker system with the amp,but that speaker system was pretty dissapointing.

generally discussion groups showed that people who used harman kardon (above shown), jamo, canton and KEF speakers were quite satisfied with the results. I agree 100% with you on bose, those are just a symbol nothing else ...sometime back I traded a pair of excellent canadian speakers with bose 301 and was totally disappointed with its bass. Bose usually uses bass reflex technology with is totally pathetic u get different sounds at different listening levels but never the same.
