Best petrol engine for LC RKR

Salam. I recently bought a 1986 RKR. It has 3F engine with manual gear. The engine is okay but the gear sucks. Talked to someone in Jeep market who recommended swap with a five forward gearbox. Another mechanic suggested engine swap with 1FZ. Hope would get thorough input from experienced off-roaders.

Can someone please recommend a good mechanic to restore a 3F to optimum performance. Open to a 3FE or Carburetor swap but need a mechanic who can guide and manage this properly.

call upon irshad 0300 223 7538, please. he is located at society office.
he can manage that 6 cylinder for you.
however i recommend to prepare list and source along if & when parts are needed.
he is working upon and old school 1982 accord at present and the intact OEM carb for that vehicle from scrapyard is 22000, which again need to be worked upon by a carb work shop. so be prepared for the insane price of parts.

sir 3F engine is a fuel guzzler, you will always be needing a fuel bowser following you when you decide for an off terrain adventure.

if you have enough resources to spare please source 1KZ diesel engine from KPK and swap it.
another choice can be a 1FZ-FE petrol engine a bolt on swap without change of transmission as well.

you can wait for more input from veteran RKR users of PW
