Best possible tires to use in Pakistan

After having spend hours and hours on the internet, searching for the best fit, going shop to shop looking for answers.
I am still very confused about what tires to buy. This is my everyday car, it has to run a lot.

I have a Toyota Vitz 1.0F 2014 facelift.
The OEM tire in this car was 165/70 R14.

When I was looking for replacements, I came across Yokohama Advan DBs. I thought this is exactly what I need. But unfortunately Advan DBs don't come in R14s.
So I thought about plus-sizing.

I then got "some" 15 inch wheels (couldn't find any good Japanese 15s), got the 185/65 R15 Advan Dbs. It was the smallest size available.

After having used these for a few months, I am satisfied with the ride comfort and quietness but that's about it.
My mileage is way off since I plus sized. I regularly have to check tire pressure because these tires are the best nail magnets. I hit a pothole at about 35 km/h and damaged a tire, I had to repair that and it now has a bubble on the sidewall.

I was looking for all-rounder that would be good-looking and perform overall without compromising too much. I can live with the poor mileage, but they have lost all reliability and I'm constantly worried.

NOW I'm looking for a new set, I'll probably get Toyota Aqua 15 inch wheels as well.

Please, Please Please help me make the best possible decision including where to find a reliable tire shop in Lahore.

Brother if i conclude in a nutshell; only go for 185/70/R14 on stock, steel rims with wheel cups!

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! 185/65/R15

Ye size ride comfort aur fuel efficiency ka bera garak kar dey ga, and also suspension (in the long run). Yes, you will get better road grip and ground clearance, but nuksaanaat faidoon sey zyada hain. I am myself using this size in my ride; Vitz 2015 model, 1.0L, F Package, and now repenting. Gari ki pick, power almost faut ho gye hai and it has become quite sluggish, just because of tires!

And irrespective of size; only go for Bridgestone tires, and especially Ecopia series! Or most appropriately, Michelin tires, with Energy Saver / Energy Saver plus series.

Avoid Dunlop! They are hard. And also avoid Yokohama tires, especially Advan dB series. They are very prone to punctures.

You're right, I already have 15 inch alloys, locally bought. I'm going to replace them with 15 inch Toyota Aqua OEM alloys.

But the tire size is the reason I believe for lower fuel economy.

going back to 14 isn't an option for me.

Advan DBs are not suited for Lahore roads, they get punctured so frequently, sometimes from glass shards on the road.

Regarding purchase, only buy from their authorized dealers with all the duties and taxes paid, fresh import. And if they are kind enough, you may request them to send you the tires directly via courier and you may pay them online, in advance. Otherwise, TirePoint at Metro locations.

There isn't any other option to buy authentic tires as market is flooded with smuggled tires.

If buying from authorized dealers, be very careful, and ask their official dealers via phone that how to identify that the tire has been properly imported. Ye dealers bohat _______ hotay hain, aur official honay k bawajuud smuggled baich daitay hain, since profit margins are more.

I myself had been such a victim. Itni research k bawajuud i happened to buy smuggled tires from one of the official and authorized dealer of Bridgestone tires.

Can I buy original and authentic Michelin tires in Lahore? if so, then from where?
I honestly cannot judge if a tire is smuggled or not.
I would only be able to check the manufacturing date.

So I'll be totally relying on the sincerity of the Shop owners.

I totally agree, this is my concern exactly, Even if the car is running fine, I'm a conscious guy and I'll always be worried.

I talked to GoodYear Gulberg Lahore. they're supposed to be authentic.

They have GoodYear Eagle Sport and Goodyear Assurance available 2019 manufacturing date.

Also I found that Pirelli P1 Verde suits my requirements but I'm sure I can't get that unless I pay big bucks and get those imported myself.

I just want to see if there are better options out there. and a better size.

everywhere I go, they recommend 185/65/15, because that's all they have. We don't have many choices in this regard.

So I have to ensure that a single tire can be replaced later, and I don't have an odd size.

Are the 15" alloys from Lenso? And light weight? Or heavy duty and from some abc, Chinese / Taiwanese brand?

Why going for OEM Aqua rims? And what will you do of the old rims?

I would suggest k kharcha and shashka na karein and if old 15" alloys are doing perfect and are light weight, stick with them.

Mujhay b kafi shauq aur jazba tha, kafi members ney samjhaya k kharcha na karein, but i was like; Nai! Experiment kar k daikhtay hain. But faida kuj khaas nai hua.

My rims are light weight, and original 15" Lenso rims with all the duties and taxes paid, may be even lighter than the stock 14" steel rims, but they are 7" wide and may not be best suited for my ride.

Yes, you are right. Tire size can hurt fuel economy much. Banda fuel efficiency k liay gari ley, aur baray, choray tires lagwa k fuel economy ka bera garak kar dey, kya faida???

Agreed, no as you can see In the link to another post I provided, these are some Chinese rims. I don't believe they are light weight. I have heard that Japanese alloys are lighter than these. and that's why I was going in this direction.

But if Lenso wheels are lighter than 14 steel wheels. I'd think they would perform better.

As said my most people, to cater for tire noise, their sidewall is not strong, and that's why ot can get easily damages or "Bubbled".

I would say Yokohama may not be suitable for Pakistan. Bridgestone is comparatively hard, but solid, rough and tough, mazbuut, paidaar and well suited for road conditions here.

Brother i think Zafar Enterprises are the sole, authorized and official importers of Michelin tires here in Pakistan. You can get their details from internet and also check my Vitz thread here on Pak wheels. I have given much detail in my thread. You can contact them telephonic and get details regarding their dealers in Lahore.

And don't trust shop owners solely and blindly. Sorry to say, but most businessmen kisi k b sagay nai hotay and paisa hi deen emaan hota hai. Wo shayed apnay sagay bhai ko b maaf na kerin. Main aap to kuj b nai.

I would suggest to buy and order online / telephonic. Their main, head office is in Karachi.

Manufacturing date may not matter much, if the tires have been carefully stored and kept with care.

Bro no idea regarding Goodyear and Pirelli. But i think, Goodyear sey Michelin and Bridgestone bohat behtar hain. These both are no. 1 and 2 in the whole world. And Pirelli is quite expensive.

Unfortunately, in a country like here, i would suggest k woi cheez purchase karein jo "market ki" ho, market ki gari, market ka brand, market hi housing society, etc.

Off Market options kafi pareshaan kar sakti hain.

Secondly regarding size, 185/65/R15 is the most suited size considering all factors, and if going for 15". Aspect ratio 60 or below can make the ride quite hard, stiff and uncomfortable, and 70 or above will not fit. Tire bohat bara aur chora ho jye ga. Width 195 and above will also not suit, and 175 will make tire like a donut. Neither road grip, nor ground clearance, etc.

Irrespective Japanese, or Chinese / Taiwanese, or alloy vs steel, it all depends k aap buy kya kar rahay hain aur kharcha kitna kar rahay hain. Jitna gurr dalein gey, cheez utni hi behtar, achi aur mayaari milay gee.

And... original Lenso comes in 15" and above. It doesn't come in 14" or below, and all such rims will be fake.
