Best time to visit Khunjerab Pass - China Border

Salam brothers. I wanted to know when is the best time in the year to make a trip to khunjerab pass - china border. Now a days I am thinking of making plans for such a trip on my cg125. But first I need to know when should it be attempted.

Khanjerab Pass opens on or around first of May every year.
Northern areas are high altitude deserts and Monsoons hardly reaches the Karakorums.

yar we flew to gilgit and from there i just takes 1 day to reach Khunjrab Pass. but now the Lake has formed and i cannot perdict exact time needed. i think u can still reach in one day.

yar i dont think it opens on first may coz i alwayz travel to NA on 1 st may and there hell of snow everywhere......
one cant even reach basecamps at that time.
any way as far as rain is concerned wahan rain na bhe ho tu snow parti hai. in 2010 we were stuck in NA for 10 dayz coz of rain and snow storms soo its best u avoid peak monson season
