It takes just 5 mins to dismantle the side mirrors from civic. I lost them twice. Once at boat basin after parking on the road side a little in the dark cause nearby all the space was occuppied. Second time it happened unexpectedly on thandi sarak near defence plaza Hyderabad. There is gang working very actively.
At Honda Dealership pair of ORIEL indicatior power side mirrors cost 38000 rupees while in the open market that cost around 8000-10000, non oriel plain mirrors are for 4000-6000.
What the gang or the nexus does is just take the mirror off which is quite easy, without mirrors its almost impossible to drive and park so it becomes obvious to buy. When the victim visits dealership,he becomes paralysed after knowing the price so he finds a way around and at last surrenders and buys the mirror from after market such as tariq road, plaza and shershah.
The gang is selling our mirrors to ourselves in just 5 mins. no need of showing gun for mobile or doing anything more risky. They just look for a lone car- civic reborn parked in the dark, thats it. So If you own a reborn or take yours on a drive kindly park it carefully , i would rather recommend to park it in your eyesight coverage, The theives are buttter smooth. IN hyderabad they just did job while I went for buying medicine for 5 mins.

I guy told me that boys who pick up trash and sell flowers or beg aged 10-15 are involved in taking off the mirrors and sell them for just 200-300 to people on motorcylce who are collectors and those people sell it further and we buy it as a end user at the end. Even if you have insurance its quite a hassle to recover and the depreciation on the dealer price would in the end cost you more then the after market stolen ones.The surveyors of the insurance company are also the part of the nexus-gang who humbly guide the victim to compromise on the stolen ones and sign on the satisfaction note so that you dont have to pay anything and at least you will get your mirrors back for free no matter used/stolen with no depreciation charge.The difference of 38000 - 8000 is shared on the hard earned money we payed to the insurance company and also of the insurance company covering our risks and in between us and the insurance company- corrupt employees take the bounty. This overall influences the insurance rate going up for effecting us in the end and making insurance a necessity for us. I believe might be insurance companies are also involved in all the car related crimes to create demand for insurance more and more and make our minds to pay even more for it as its worthy.
I request atlas to fix this problem in the new model as a modification and offer a modification to those who are the owners of Reborn model 2006-2012. This small vulnerability of civic makes me very conscious and cautious driving and parking my civic and so does the other owners too decreasin the customer satisfaction and the resale value of the car. In Pakistan cars should be assembled and manufactured keeping in view the local conditions of the country. Things right and safe in Japan might be not in Pakistan. Atlas should modify the cars side mirrors to provide peace of mind and pleasure of drive to their customers.
