Bigger/Wider Tyre Effect on Milage

As fuel prices are on the rise. Please share your experience that what will be the difference in fuel consumption with stock tyres as compared to the upgraded one.

For example incase of Civic Exi,
If Stock tyre size 185/65-R14, is compared with upgraded one 195/65-R15.

i think nothing much happens when u only increase the width of the tyre. it will give u extra grip and traction.

Milage can be effected in two ways;
1. Wider tyre means more air resistance at highway speed thus more engine work
2. Increasing the height may result in unstable high speed drive

The difference will be minor for the tire size you are suggesting.

narrow tires will give more mileage and less handling.

smaller tires in diameter should decrease mileage due to more rotations.

best option is to stick to factory specs for best mileage and safty
