Step 1 WASH
Wash your car/bike using a good quality car shampoo. (car shampoos, shampoo + wax etc all are same with some or none additives) They are mild organic degreasers and will wash away tough dirt, mud, bird droppings etc.
Step 2 PREPARE
Prepare your bike for further detailing. Before polishing and waxing you need to make sure your paint job is in perfect nick to be enhanced further and preserved, thus use any soft/hard rubbing compound in this stage. A compound polish will remove minor/tough scratches, swirls depending which products are you using. cheap compounds would only hide scratches, high end products will permanently remove them.
Use any engine degreaser on this stage for further cleaning of the engine bay, these are heavy duty for removing tough deposits on the engine
Use head light restorers on this stage for faded head light plastics.
Step 3 POLISH
This would remove oxidation, finger prints, smudges and bring out true bright color, shine and gloss of your paint
Step 4 WAX
Waxing would save your hard work here on this stage, it would lock the paint's cleanliness, shine, gloss and further deepen it. Wax would create a layer around your paint that would protect it from effects of oxidation, swirls, minor scratches, damage from sun light etc. Carnauba wax is the hardest naturally existing wax, where as synthetic waxes are better which are made with special polymers which will last longer on your paint.
Step 5 MAINTAIN
Do the remaining stuff here, such as chrome and metal polishing, glass cleaners, tire sprays etc.
Detailing mainly ends here...
Now, the next day or after a few trips when ur ride has dirt on it, to maintain the hard work you have done above, in this stage what you have to do is, use quick wax/polish sprays etc. use a light damp cloth to remove dirt from the surface and spray these quick sprays and you will instantly restore the shine of your ride, it again give the just washed wet look with deep glow! Enhancing the time of shine and protection!
