To see if it's coil problem check for spark on cold engine if it is there then no issue. If it runs fine after 20-25 starts then I don't think there is any electrical issue.
If there is no pressure to kick then it might be some issue with valves and piston rings or piston.

Any major work done in the past?
For carb if it doesn't dies after starting and letting idle then I doubt that there is any issue in carb as only the pilot circuit is involved in staring and idling. So if it idles fine no carb issue.
I suspect valves.
