On behalf of Billo, I would like to thank you for the compliment.

A beautiful, hand made, very unique and individual sun visor arrived from Pakistan by special delivery yesterday.

It was the best surprise I've received in a while and it wouldn't have been possible without the co-ordination by some of my best VW buddies.

Beautiful, i did not know that beneath the newspaper packaging it was another truck art treat.

Looking at these pictures is messing with my head, perhaps i should to swap one of my minis with a beetle. Allah paisay ata karey, ameen.

As far as I remember when I saw this visor in person at @shahzebulhaq's a couple of months ago, it was a paint job unlike the glowing/reflector tape job as in case of the one already on Billo. Or may be I am mixing things up. Can you please confirm if its a paint job?

Nonetheless it is magnificent handicraft and would compliment the truck art on Billo perfectly. Good luck with the installation.

Thanx bro. We should all try to project the real image of our country - at any level. I have met so many people who had a totally different impression of the place and people once they met a Pakistani (unless he was a political asylum seeker) or visited Pakistan and would love to go back. Highly negative are usually those people who just read the news about bomb blasts and such..

Just as we were getting ready for the 2009 show season with the Sick Kids event a week away I got the disturbing news from Pakistan that Ammi had fractured her wrist. This of course meant that I had to book a flight to Pakistan and return to be with her. Due to employment reasons I could only afford a 2 week absence from Canada. With a view to utilize every day that I had I flew out on a Friday after work directly to Karachi and took a connecting flight to Islamabad making it home by 10 pm on Saturday. I cannot describe in words the feeling or the effect my being home on Ammi. She was in terrible pain but she was overjoyed. Her biggest regret was that she could not cook my favourite Qeema Kareyley for me! I was with her when the screws of the jig were removed from her arm and she could flex her fingers. Maasha Allah she has made full recovery and I cannot wait to return for the mouth watering treats she prepares.

Shahzadi was out of storage anyway so I was driving her from the next day on. The transition from driving on the "wrong" side of the road was quick and without an incident. It was good to experience the familiar growl of the 1.9 engine and the rapid acceleration.<o:p></o:p></p>

I think you should also share how you got hold of such beauties. Each one of your Beetles is a desirable must have ......

I mean you've got a GT Beetle, a 67 COnvert, an Oval and a 60's Billo.... R u just plain lucky or what !!!:))

I dont believe so. There are quite a few aftermarket/VDO gauges on that instrument panel.

Correct. The guages are after market VDO units. The oil temperature unit has stopped working due to a fault in the sender unit but I have found a replacement.

A lot of blood, sweat and hard earned cash has gone into converting the ordinary, and in some, basket cases to their present state.



I have been collecting parts for the Oval for almost 5 years now but Insha allah it too would be a head turner...
