Please come to the real point can we run our home generator, honda or toyota cars with this bio fuel with or without some modification. So we can get rid of f***g Zari taxes to some extent.

Yes you can run all diesel engines on biodiesel if your govt. wants :).
But I don't think Petroleum Mafia will ever let this happen on large scale.

Don't worry, our country is in safe & patriotic hands. May be we are unable to see the issues from the perspective of our leaders, our army, agencies & our diplomats. The way the current situation was tackled must be appreciated although everybody was hopeless & desperate. You can easily feel the difference between 3-4 days old statements & todays statements of Obama & Iranian, British PM & Chinese just after Gillani's address. A huge difference in the situation.

But I don't think Petroleum Mafia will ever let this happen on large scale.

There is a hugo amount data available over the internet for it's production. please concentrate how can we use it.

im currently studying at nust and believe me we hav like super size generators which run on this biodeisel and its saving alot for the nust admin
... the plant is also grown inside the the nust campus in H-12

come on...dont brag like the dunya guys did. all the generators and busses run from normal diesel.

Guys I need you kind help... Can anybody suggest me where I can get Jatrupha seeds? I am seriously planning to cultivate this plant. Nustians! can you kindly search out that if Jatrupha seeds are available at NUST ... ?????????? I will be really thankful for any support from you people

i m farmer i own 25 acre of land and now i m very keen to plant this Jatropha ,but i have read so many articles from which i found that u can only get 3 tons of seed from 1 acre and from 3 tonns u can get 1 ton of oil so its not 2000 littre per acre its 1000,now if we multiply it with say 25 ,farmer can get 25000 ruppes per acre in a year,which is not impressive,thats y we dont cultivate it,but i will surley cultivate it on experimental purpose.

Same here... I also want to culivate this plant on experimental basis.... Atleast the land which is currently useless due to some reason can be used to cultivate Jatrupha, so that I can produce Diesel for mechinary & Bio-gas as by-product from the wastes of biodiesel... Not a bad deal I think....

Due to bio diesel prices of crops like corn ,sunflower as well as other already increased so please every one stop thinking stupid ,do you know when people want to make bio diesel from corn the farmer used chemicals to grow the crop fast and destroy the land and also pollution so THINK

Bhaiiiiiiii.... instead of speaking word of petroleum mafia, use ur own brain & logic... If price of food product is increased due to biodiesel, farmer should automatically be inclined towards food crops due to more profit...

Furthermore... Jatrupha(major biodiesel producing plat) is a crop which is more suitable for barren lands i.e where other food products are not suitable to cultivate.... like in baluchistan, sindh & southern punjab

Finally if there is still a chance of people blindly cultivating this plant,..... what the hell govt is doing then???... I mean cant' they issue licences & also restrict areas for its cultivation???????... If they can plan CNG schedule & impose other taxes, can't they see a crop that stands for years on prohibited land?????

agree with u.....fertilizers are killing us....

@asad: lets assume u are correct. What will happen is that the farmers shift to jatrophia and ditch other food crops. You will see a food shortage for a whole year or more, possibly a famine type situation and food prices will rise like hell, poor people will die like hell. And then MAYBE, next year food crops might become profitable again for the farmers to get back to food crops.
So the net result of this crop will be the poor gets poorer, you and other jatrophia farmers get rich....

and the govt is stupid. You might recall how they exported a surplus of wheat instead of letting it sell in the local market so the food prices go down...but you see what happens is that the political parties, when they look for people to join their party, they make some promises to these rich chaudry type people who have mills and farms...

so if GOD forbid, something happens to our crops, we dont have enough stocks to last till next harvest.....

Agreed to some extent but as I mentioned, this is a plant that is ideal for barren lands.... where food crop is not suitable like in baluchistan... 2-3 rains are enough.... & in some parts of Sindh & Punjab... Thing is that we should focus on optimisation instead of keep fighting over the issues like Kalabagh dam & coal & sui gas & gold reserviors... If we try to cultivate wheet in Sui or Reko Degh then isn't it a plain stupidity... Nature has gifted us lands for all of these resources & we should utilize these all in right places & in right time

Last month I had a telephonic conversation with some personal at PSO Bio-diesel center.... The guy simply advised me to stay away from investing money in this project if I can get anything else from my land. He told me that in order to get some profit, you have to cultivate Jatrupha on at-least 100acres of land & then wait for 3 years.
He said that don't believe on youtube videos & other supporting material, All that is fake & exaggeration. Today I saw that PSO has even removed the Bio-diesel related links from their website.

I don't know why but I have a feeling that PSO does not want to promote this fuel & there is some sort of hidden ill-will disguised in the above word by their manager.

No news from NUSTians... I will visit their campus someday & will share the details here (Inshallah)
