Blue Color Coolant

My car has blue coolant in it. Which company has blue coolant? Can I top up it with green coolant?

Is it the default coolant which came in your car from the factory? Or is it aftermarket? Or you bought a used, 2nd hand, etc. car?

Unless / until some specific details are mentioned, many may be clueless as to which company it may belong.

My car has blue coolant in it.

coolants that used Inorganic Additive Technology (IAT) were usually blue or green in colour. With these types of coolants, you’d normally have to change them every two years, or every 60,000 miles.

Newer coolants, such as Prestone, based solely on the OAT (organic acid technology) chemical make-up, now offer a 10-year or 300,000-mile change interval thanks to their superior corrosion protection. Prestone is yellow, but many other coolant manufacturers use different colours

bought in aug 2016 from dealer with 50k odo unregistered
Milage now is 110k approx
With stock coolant blue color

Nissan blue coolant is the same as Honda blue coolant. I dont recall what suzuki is right now

Nissan blue is not compatible with basf g48 blue coolant which is sold as mercedes benz and bmw coolant in Pakistan.

If its the same as Honda Genuine Coolant in Blue colour (as suggested by fellow members above), then you can top it up with Honda Genuine Coolant in Blue colour.

However, if you are willing to spend some amount, then I would suggest to drain the old coolant and flush the cooling system, and pour in the fresh, new coolant, preferably by Caltex.

Its best value to money, and would also suit your ride.

Just ensure that Caltex concentrated coolant is 100% authentic.

Buy 100% concentrated Caltex coolant (1L of it will cost somewhere around 950~1100 Rs. / bottle) and mix it with an equal volume of water, so that the ratio of coolant with water is 50:50 (1L of de-ionized / de-mineralised / pure / distilled water may cost 50~70 Rs.). Your cooling system may require around 3.5~4L of coolant, if drained and filled.

Drain the old coolant, pour in the fresh new coolant and you'll be good to go for ~250,000 Kms / 05 years.

You can also buy premixed coolant, but it may not be value to money.

Thank you for your reply. Coolant is not rusty and I don't think that there is a need to flush it, so I just want to top up.

coolant also has a usable life in an engine, the new HOAT japanese coolants have a life of 8 years or 150,000 kms and require replacement.

When replacing dont just drain and fill, you need to flush the system out.

At time of flush you can choose to change the type of coolant for one that provides better economy.

There is a way to test the coolant also, it requires a multimeter only. It can tell if your coolant is depleted.
