BMW has recently updated all their model line up. scrapping few models, introducing new models and engines/ power trains as well as safety and infotainment technologies. 2 series launched most recently https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/news-articles-driver-education-safety/224101-all-new-bmw-2-series-unveiled and a concept X4 is in final stages https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/cool-classic-cars-latest/225814-2015-bmw-x4

4 series coupe was launched this summer, and the performance M models were on waiting list. BMW has slashed 2 door coupe M3 ( though releases limited numbers of https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/news-articles-driver-education-safety/225798-bmw-m3-coupe-lime-rock-park-limited-edition ). The new M3 will only be available as 4 door sedan. BMW has ditched its V-8 engine and gone back to basics with the next-generation M3 sport sedan and M4 coupe. A turbocharged 6-cylinder engine and weight saving regime should make this pair of BMW sports machines a rival to anything Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes or Lexus can throw at it.

The introduction of a powerful inline-6 cylinder engine versus the previous high-revving V-8 is music to ears. This new inline-6 is turbocharged and churns out 425-horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque.

According to BMWs stopwatch, the M3 sedan and M4 coupe sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds, when equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission is also available. The automatic is actually quicker, with an estimated 0 to 60 mph sprint of 3.9 seconds.BMW has lightened the M3 and M4 by using lightweight materials throughout each car. it's made out of carbon-fiber, to cut pounds and lower the center of gravity.
Aggressive cooling ducts have been integrated into the front bumper, to feed cool air to the brakes. If you want the ultimate in stopping power, BMW also offers optional carbon ceramic brakes.

I am sure that BMW offers the cars at fairly similar prices all over the world, but it is the local taxes that make the difference.

Of course. Hopefully, we will see a day where our economy is strong and we have more people paying taxes the regular way so the government won't feel the need to add unreasonable taxes on car imports.

I think it is due to BMW's new classification scheme, which gives coupe or convertible models even numbers (4 Series, 6 Series) and the sedans odd numbers (3 Series, 5 Series), but I am sure @fazalwahab11375 knows more.

The new M3 is track ready machine these 4doors are just to mention that its a sedan but it real its a b**ch.

All the reviews for this M3 globally claim it as track ready machine.

Vcheng is 100% right. BMW started following Audi's type naming for easy classification .. Means the even numbers are coupes like 2, 4 , 6. though 4 and 6 have "4 doors" versions as well but they are still called "Gran-Coupe". 3, 5 ,7 are sedans. 1 series is hatchback but a 1 series sedan is in works and will compete against CLA and A3. X will remain with Crossovers/ SUV's while Z will be kept with 2 door roadsters. "i" will be kept with electrics.
