Hello.

Me and my friend got his car polished up and ready to be up for sale , the 530 got it's details back.

Two blokes from the showroom did the service , let's count this in as a DIY as i gave a helping hand.

I did not take pictures of the wash and prewash.


Various parts of the car were painted some months ago , the result was not so bad , actually quite impressive. Let's begin with the result , later i will post pictures of the products which I noted were being used , there is no secret in these showroom jobs.


The roof was the first part of the car which got a taste of the polish.

After some rubbing and polishing with hand not with an electric mop.

Just look at the results staggering aren't they?

The wax left it's traces......

Now you can see how matt the color of your car can get if you don't polish it.

After the whole car was polished up and ready there was some detailing work left to do , starting with the exaust.




Looks much more attractive to buyer now.

Left chrome list is polished , they look equally dull to me.....

Side mirror which was one of the mattest part of the car.

The rear lights got a round of plastic polish too.

Final results.....just staggering , there is no doubt that a buyer will fall in love with this shining 530.

The polishing and elbow grease really has made a huge difference, especially with the swirl marks no longer visible, must be tempting not to sell the car having it looking so good

I did not use any polish , the guys at the showroom had some of their own professional products and some which I noticed I am listing here.
Dont know if these are available in Pakistan.

Yes indeed , the shine was even better to see in person , the 530 looked like the day it came out of the showroom.

Swirls can be removed using a Swirl remover from a reputed company like Meguiars or Mothers but it is not recommended as it peels off a real heavy layer of clear coat to reveal a swirl free and like new finish. Only use it if you intend to keep your cars for 2/3 years max especially in harsh environment like ours.

On contrary it actually takes off a very thin layer of clear coat. Swirl removers have a very light compound in them. Its only the heavy rubbing compound thats bad for you car if you do it regularly.

You are correct. I got it the other way round. Compound takes off a heavy layer of clear coat while swirl remover will take off a relatively thinner layer of clear coat. Still swirl removers in Pakistan do not make any sense even if you use microfiber cloths as the swirls will be back on within 2-3 weeks in case of extreme care or 1 week in case of normal care

In case some of you are wondering how much it costed , they charged Approximately 5900rs for : (by converting the currency)

Pre-wash - Wash - Service - Interior cleaning - Vacuming - Polish - Removing grease under the car.

You mean if you dont use microfiber cloth right?

Btw even compounds take a thin layer off, I mean the most commercially available ones. There are some extreme compounds that only very very experienced detailers use which can actually burn a hole in your paint.
