protein has nothing to do with ur bones! bones are made of calcium not protein!!
there are many types of supplements, which supplement r u talking about?
basically the most common types are
1) endurance ( creatine etc) creatine is pure power source. if u feel tired, have a poor diet or have a very strict schedule, then u can take advantage with creatine. it will help u pick heavy weights in short burst. red meat has creatine.
2) Protein there are many types of protein powder out there. they can further break down to following types
a) glutamine:- this protein helps in repairing ur mucles and recovery cycle fast.
b) aminio:- these are basic building blocks. it contains all sorts of protein in small quantity
c) Whey :- the purest form of protein. helps build and give shape to quality muscle.
mass gainers (mega mass (weider) , extreme mass (ultimate nutrition) etc ) these give u alot of mass and weight gains. ur stomach will start to bloat out and ur body will gain all sort of mass which includes muscle,fat etc etc. usually the calories intake is high in such supplements (1500 per glass or even more) this is used when u are off season and trying to gain weight
