Hello guys. My corolla currently has a 2nz-fe which has done more than 200,000 kms and it has started to reduce oil. I have to swap the engine and was wondering if the higher variant engines such as the 1ZR-FE or 2ZR-FE can be installed without any fabrications except for the upgraded electrical harnesses.
Go for 2zrfe dual vvti 1.8, its bolt-on for your car. You just need a decent electrician to get the wiring job done properly.
1nz-fe 1500cc will also be a good choice.
2ZR-Fe will be a great choice, but your electrition should be expert.
Yes, that's where I have to find somebody who is capable. I have also heard that the 2ZR-FE ECU comes with a built-in immobilizer so would have to sort that out as well
Yeah, thought about that too, but since it's an older engine, finding a clean engine would prove more difficult as compared to the newer ones. Also, if I have to upgrade, why not go spend some more and go all out, right?
Just replace assembly with 2nz
Aaj k daur mai, immobilizers are nothing to worry about. It can be bypassed as well as activated by re-programming.
They are pretty robust. You can find a good condition one if you do your homework.Your last statement is only true if you can find a very good and knowledgeable mechanic and electrician who will hook up each and every thing on a ZR engine otherwise one small error and it will be useless swap.On other hand swapping a NZ is pretty easy now.
Replace assembly with 2NZFE and keep it stock
Yes, I thought about the wiring and I might be able to get my hands on a wiring diagram because the 2ZR-FE was produced all around the world. About the 1NZ, if I can find it, then I guess that's the better and easier way. Let's see
Why would you want to replace an engine on the basis of oil reduction?
Get it checked again probably only your engines valve seals are worn out. It's not much big of a expense. If you are sure that your engine is duly maintained, timely oil changes, your cars engine should be good to go.
Thanks. Will point this out to the mechanic when I get it checked out.
Brother did u swapped engine or not
No, it's still running relatively okay on the 2nz for now, will probably do it next year
