Bought a new Honda City a week ago. Problems!

I spent 2 months searching for a JDM but the level of 2 numbri, even in auction sheets, got me buying this and Alhamdulillah I do not regret my decision. There are quality issues as I mentioned but that is in everything Pakistani but again, even the market is 'Pakistani' and hence, Allah khair rakhain, my car should sell for ok price when I sell it. in 1.7m, the one can get Vitz but I would NEVER go for a Vitz over a brand new City.

Bro I've spent a huge sum of money on this car too and I'd love to be as delusional as you about it. I simply can't ignore the fact that its a terrible car especially when the price is taken into account. The least I can do is enlighten prospective buyers about the reality of their future purchase. Also don't you think its pathetic that you spent 2 mil on a car in 2018 and you didn't even get a decent automatic transmission?

No experience there but in the upper end of the range, Passo may be a good option.

Its very difficult to recommend a car within your budget and priorities. If you're willing to give up automatic transmission, you can go for a decently maintained 11 model gli. If you're willing to give up fuel economy, you can go for an 8th gen civic and if you're willing to accept a hatchback, there's loads of Japanese cars you can go for. Prosmatec is the normal Honda automatic which isn't that great and lacks smoothness. Idsi vario was one of the older cvti transmissions. While it gives decent fuel economy, their reliability is a concern especially as those cars are at least 10 years old now. If you're proficient with a manual transmission, I'd recommend you to skip the auto for the local cars as within your budget you will neither get something good nor reliable. The cars you can buy will be at least 5 years old and with a manual transmission the worst that'll happen is a clutch change needed which can be done for under 20k but automatic transmission problems will be way more expensive. Plus automatic transmission will really restrict your options. The best option within your range is a used swift(14/15 model). Due to high depreciation, you can get a really great example, but the fuel economy isn't that good and it is a hatchback.

I am sorry for throwing that word at you in haste. But, I don't understand your second sentence. Are you implying automatic transmission to be more power focused? Because automatic transmissions have much more drive train losses leading to less performance than manual transmissions especially considering the kind of ancient automatic Honda is using in the city. If you're implying the 1.3 city to be powerful, I'd like to disagree. 98hp is nothing special and feels just barely sufficient in the city which is made for the 1.5l engine. If you really wanted the power, you should've spent an extra 60k for the 1.5 model. You already spent a huge sum so 60k more shouldn't have been too much of an issue.

Thank you brother for your kind detailed opinion. It cleared many doubts. Automatic trasmission is not a serious priority in comparison to durability and less maintenance in long run. GLI is a good option in sedans and its durability and less expensive spares will cover for its relatively lower fuel economy than city. If I want more safety features and other options, I may have to compromise sedan over japanese hatchbacks. Personally I dont like hatchbacks but please tell me about Passo. Is it durable as compared to GLI and easily availble spares??

I'm not very experienced with Japanese cars but gli is very likely gonna be more durable than the passo. Spare parts for the more common Japanese cars like passo are available in the market but are more expensive than the parts for local cars.

I love with Manual local lower quality 1.3 L engine 1.8 m costing cars and hence I bought this city and I am loving it.

Sir aissay dil jaloun ki bataoun par na jain. City is a good car.
Why? There are very few options in Pakistan for local sedans in starting range. Gli, City and Ciaz.
City is the cheapest of the three thats a plus for me.
City has a huge trunk space and is cheapest of the three plus for me.
It has a punchy response when you press the gas pedal which is a plus for me cuz am that sorta driver.

Japanese imports no doubt are good but for the same price of a city i cant get a imported sedan with large trunk space and would have to settle for aqua or vitz or passo not a good trade off for me. Trunk space has its virtue.
So you know when money matters as Alhamdulillah God has been merciful but am not filthy rich still go to sunday bazaars to buy my levis jeans haha. i think city still is the cheapest sedan in the market, you can resell it easily and well im happy with it. Rest its upto you

What are the warranty conditions and in what conditions it gets void?
Does installing aftermarket navigation system voids warranty or anything installed after market?
I'm planning to buy Honda City 1.3 manual i.e the basic one and than install aftermarket accessories.
Should I go for Honda's own navigation costing 50000 rupees or an aftermarket one costing 20000 rupees.
Warranty is an issue for me.
Please guide.

Warranty is s**. Especially warranty of Honda. They will die before they claim warranty. Even agar apki gaari showroom mein delivery se pehlay explode ho gaye they will blame it on you itni s*** warranty hai.

Aftermarket navigation doesn't affect warranty unless wires are cut. Go for an aftermarket navigation if you dont have a problem with their hideous look.

I got a City in August, 2017. My car also had the dashboard issue. I noticed it just before the first service. I showed the car to Honda and they changed the panel on my next service. My car also had a few blemishes on the paint but I fixed them up myself. Honda needs to improve their plastic quality. Feels inferior. Oh and my car's immobilizer also went bad one day. Had a new one made from Tracking world.
