Civic Turbo 2019

Finally bought Civic Turbo last week in black and really enjoying it. Actually I am new to this 1.5T engine so I made this thread so the existing owners can provide me information how to tame this beast. This is my first experience with Turbo engines.

•Break in period•

I have read the entire owners manual and it says you have to break in the engine as it is not done from factory. So uptill now I have driven about 600 kms in city and I am not letting rpm go above 2500 and driving with variable speeds And I am using paddle shifters so the rpm varies as cvt makes rpm stay and constant speed, which is not recommended.

Recommend fuel station in Lahore (DHA)

Didn’t poured pure HOBC mixed it with super from PSO. (Ghazi Chowk) My query, in what ratios should I mix HOBC and super or should I use pure HOBC, also from which specific pump should I get refuelled in Lahore this is what I am most concerned about.

Radiator fan

Second thing I have noticed that the radiator fan switches on very early with little intervals like before I have owned 8th gen civic and I never heard the fan kicking in ever! So just wanted to ask is it normal?

First engine oil

Third thing should I change engine oil at 1000 kms as there are metal particles inside new engine or should change the first oil at 5000 kms?

Ceramic coat

Just a general question as it’s a black colour should I go for ceramic coat? If yes should I go instantly or wait for few months as I have heard you should not fiddle with brand new

Rest I’ll keep asking questions till I drive it more and I am really excited to see how responsive this engine would be.

First engine oil needs to be changed after thousand kilometers by the dealer. Congrats on the purchase bro.

Congratulations on buying the most beautiful and powerful car made in Pakistan.
I just crossed 40k kms odo on my turbo and one thing i say is the best car assembled in Pakistan right now.
In Lahore i only use Attock petroleum opposite to dewaan motors cauz Dewaan guys recommended their fuel for my X1. I pour 2500 rs Hobc and rest 92 ron and tank full around 5k rs.

First of all, heartiest Congratulations on your purchase Bro!

Regarding fuel station, I would personally recommend to look for company operated and maintained Shell fuel station (preferably) and then Total. You can find the details from their official Pakistan website. Attock may be avoided, it's fuel may clog catalytic converter early / prematurely as reported by some fellow members (no doubt, it's fuel provides good fuel efficiency).

Regarding engine oil change, I would strongly urge to do it after 1,000 Kms, then at 5,000 Kms, and then after every 5,000 Kms (along with genuine oil filter), and pour in 0w-20 or max. 5w-30 oil grade. Along with this, oil should be API SN / SN Plus / RC, ILSAC GF-5 and fully synthetic.

Since you will go to Honda for at least first 3 services and they will pour their own engine oil, otherwise, I would have recommended Total Quartz 9000 Future Series, Shell, ZIC and / or Caltex Chevron to choose from, provided that the oil is 100% genuine and original (preferably Total and Shell). Well, you can switch to them any time.

Thankyou brother @saad.klair I've been concerned about using the right fuel I noticed uptill now that after using pure HOBC I could notice a little carbon deposits on exhaust tips and after I used it in 70/30 hobc/super ratio exhausts had so such sign no I'm a little confused.

Thankyou @basitali87 sure I'll do look for company operated stations since private stations are not soo trustworthy and regarding oil I heard about the oil prefilled by Honda from the factory has some fluid which supports breaking in. Also the grade I would use would be 0w20 always since this is what the manual says, and I am thinking to use Honda genuine oil because of warranty issues these dealerships create since you know that civic has some steering rack issues which are covered under warranty. Though it's mentioned in the manual that 0w20 or equivalent oil can be used but still dealership ko kon samhajaye.

Yes bought zero meter from showroom it's same as previous models no change, ECU software upgraded. Date of manufacturing is January 2019

Nope Bro, engine or engine oil does not have any such additives, to support new baby engine (You just need to drive carefully)
