Hello guy, new to this forum thing but oldie in cars I used to own a Suzuki 1.3 GTi back in early 90’s and since then hooked on to Pocket Rockets / fast cars.
I own a Civic Turbo and regardless of what PakWheels / people said about the engine or quality of construction of Civic Turbo, I still went ahead and bought it, and believe me I’m Loving It.
BTW, I’m an Aviator by profession and have learned, studied and flown turbo engine as part of piston engine so I guess I know a thing or two about turbo’s
There are 2 types of Turbo engines
1. Geared, also called super chargers (Kompressor) which draw some power from Engine but gives instantaneous power.
2. Non Geared or exhaust driven turbo’s which are driven with exhaust gases which are free of charge but they do have Turbo Lag.
Turbo are very powerful engine and they do require some special care like for example do not start the car and give full race. Let it warm up to it’s operating temperature at least. You can drive after a minute or so but keep engine RPM below 2000 rev and let the engine warm up.
(pure HOBC Total Parco anytime as adviced to me by Audi engineer a personal friend, and I find it far superior too to any other fuel.
Fuel available in Pakistan is NOT of high-quality regular fuel is actually 85 RON boosted with fuel additives to 92 RON.
This means that only 85% of the fuel will be burnt in the engine, and 15% will be wasted. Hence engine will not produce enough power and engine stalls, and at higher speed will give Jerks. Also produces carbon deposits in engine which reduces engines Volumatric efficiency, so remember higher the quality of fuel less carbon deposits better the efficiency of engine.
That’s why Honda complained to OGRA after conducting its independent testing.
Turbo engines work on higher temperatures, due air is compressed by turbo raising the temp that’s why ur noticing this. Overall engine runs hotter.
Just follow Honda’s mantaince schedule as in Owners Manual and only use Honda oil as recommended it will increase life of your car.
Turbo has Oil Life Gauge in its meter use it. It’s there for your help. Don’t waste money unnecessarily also save the environment by not throwing away useful oil.
New cars have magnets in engine / transmission oil pan to catch the metal particles, so don’t worry about that.
No need to spend 30K or more, do it urself. If you have a closed garage basically dust free place then you can do it in just 4-7k.
I have done 5-6 cars on my own in my garage as a weekend project. Ordered the product on AliExpress and just follow the instructions.
It will last 2-3 years then you have to reapply the coating remember nothing is permanent.
