Bought myself brand new honda 2.5kva generator

yes brother it is a pulling of a string start and yes we can install self-restart kit on it (if thats wot u mean by a kit) thats wot honda people told me ... and i cant compare it with other brand gensets becuz this is my first time purchase of a genset priviously i was using ups and yes it runs on gas like a dream no vibrations no hickups no matter how much load u put on it and honda people themselves came to my home and do some settings on it according to me all gensets main purpose is to provide electricity but theres a quality gensets and chinese gensets so i picked a quality item and u know honda tey honda hey lol

Honda price is about 1.5times higher than a good chinese brand like Jasco and if honda is maintaining the quality they had like 10years before, then its wise spending some more money on it, but offcourse u have to kick/pull start it and house ladies cannot do it...

do honda ppl recommend to put the chinese self start kit on their gen set?

thanks bro for liking it and about ur query regarding petrol consumption that i didnot checked becuz am using it on gas since day first but in a day or 2 i will put 500 rupees of petrol in it and check for how many hours it can run on it then post milleage here

so you got it converted to gas?or gas option comes pre installed?i have heard these generators just consume 1000rs gas/month which IMO is quite cheap

Btw, the honda gives u assurance of the fact that ur genset has copper wiring and no silver in it. Its the silver wiring that becomes a headache for you.

I have a chinese 4kva genset with me, does everything, u know. Same thing in honda was gonna cost above 1.5 lakh. Therefore, the guy from whom I bought this thing guaranteed me that i can always grab him by the collar if this china thing causes any issues for me, (he is a chum of mine). 100% guaranteed copper wiring.

Uptil now, its on petrol, gonna get it converted to gas in a few days.

But sadly, I have 3 acs, two 1.5tons and one is 2 tons.

gen can't provide starting voltage (around 5k watts) to any of them.

well ive seen everywhere on my genset for "made in" but theres nothing written on it ive also checked manuals theres written "printed in china" ive called honda dealer he says ur honda is made in japan and there are japanese parts used in all honda gensets but manuals and paper work etc were printed in china ..

answer= no they dont recommend it but they say we can put self starter kit in place without removing original pull string setup so if it get corrupted or malfunction then u can always go back to original pull string setup and yes price is definitely higher than chinese gensets i was more inclined towards honda em6000gn or eu65i honda genset which has company fitted original cng kit but that genset costs above 2 lacs

yes ive got it converted into gas becuz pre-installed honda gaskit gensets costs above 2lac .. bro ur talking about 1000 rupees/month ? honda guy told me its just 600 to 700 rupees per month gas bill now lets see how much bill i get at the end of month lol fingers crossed

bro maine jo 6 year pahle liya tha us par china likha tha but is quality bohat achi hai abhi tak maine piston ya ring nae change kiya aor fit chal raha hai
@mitthu bhai ac k sath ab electric iron ya fridg to chalay gi nae but lights chal jati hain and confirm it plz check it jahan filter box laga hai wahan opper iron angle par ek sticker laga hoga jahan Honda mindong likha hoga

yaar he doesn't have jasco. He has only got loncin and dynamac brands in chinese, of which according to him, dynamac is better in terms of load bearing and peak power output.

Loncin does not usually bear the rated power mentioned on it.

Silver is just used to decrease the manufacture cost of the gen. Yes yaar, idea of the ac is good.(H) But selling one ac, :S well I am not so sure cz none of these three rooms are small enough to be cooled by 1 ton ac.

Guess I'll be making up some budget and going for a new piece.

and that widow, thats one NASTY spyder. Looks for nasty people around.

btw, my generator has got an ODO meter as well. Yes! an ODO meter. o;)

yaaaar, there is simply no rocket science in doing that. My gen has got both, the pull string system and the self start. It had auto starter kit as well but I removed that cz I need it for secondary use. I have 2 ups systems for primary use, as I don't like unnecessary ghhrrr ghrrr all the time.

What the mech actually does is that he opens the wiring of the engine, puts a starter solenoid in it (more like a car's self) and connects it to a 3 way ignition system.

Don't now the warranty of aunda, I think it WILL void it.

Therefore, I suggest u go for a good chinese brand instead cz reliable set in honda, for gas, is em6000GN (i hate is LOUD sound :S) is gonna cost u around 2.3 lakhs.

just tell the shop wala to give u the one with copper wiring and give u 10% guarantee. If by any means its silver in it, u are gonna beat him up real bad.

yaar ap ne 6 saal pehly adhi qeemat per lia tha aj us se double qeemat per mil raha he per rupee ki value bhi gir gai he no doubt ap tu khushqismat nikly :D.ok bro il check it and post pic of it just for pakwheelers eyes only (H) dont worry aj me is ka chappa chappa chan maron ga lol

exactly thats what i want to know will it void warranty or is it really worth it into changing self start becuz ive got zero problem regarding pulling of string start and asim bro plz make lil correction honda genset is of Rs60,000/- (with gaskit) and its 2.5kva i know becuz ive just got it thanks and honda guys told me my warranty willnot be voided by installing gaskit

lol 100% true per kia karein load shedding itni zada ho gayi he oper se itni shadeed garmi he well humary neighbours me sab ne generators rakhy we hain sirf hum log reh gaye they jin ke pas generator nai tha ab humara honda bhi mohalley me dhoom machaye ga lol

@mitthu .. i just checked from one dealer in karachi (clifton) area and he quoted me 2.2kva honda get set with trolley and without kit at Rs65,000/- and further said that installing of gas kit will completely void the warranty, therefore i must alteast run the gen for 1 month on petrol.

How is the pull string of honda?? can ammi'sss and wife'ss easily pull and star the honda gen

wow man honda karachi have got high prices maybe there profit ratio is more then kharian honda dealers who knows but i gave u prices at my place its much lesser u can get 2.5kva genset like mine in 60k and that includes free gaskit also (no trolley) with one year warranty and honda dealer also told me to run my generator for first 20 hours and after that u can use it and start it on gas but they also told run it on petrol 1 day in a month just to get petrol flowing in the lines
the pull string of honda is very light i mean i can push it very easily but thats maybe becuz am man and i doubt if our ammis and wives can pull it lol but if the pulling string problem persists for women then u can always go back to self-start thingy but i dont know how reliable is that ...

My actual load is 4fans and 5-6 energy savers and maybe a refreigerator which can easily be covered by a 2.-2.5kva gen running on gas, but i am thinking of buying a 4 or 5kva gen, so that i can easily entertain some house/family parties also.. The question now arrises is

1. Is it ok, if i use 2kva load on regular basis on my 4-5kva gen? would it be problem to run only half load

2. If i run 2kva load on the 4-5kva gen, then would it consumer fuel/gas on 2kva or 4-5kva

3. Should i buy chinese brands like JASCO OR CUMMINS of high kva or should i settle for Honda with less kva (my price range is Rs60,000)

warranty will be void if u gona mess around with honda's orignal parts but here u will be using all the other parts, as the re-coil starter flywheel is diff u need a flywheel with gear so u will be keeping ur orignal one safe at home..

yea its nasty.

yaar, odo, hmmm, dun know, U can always scotch tape a nokia 3310 to ur gen and start the stopwatch with the kick. Its battery will seldom die. Its hard enough to withstand the vibes produced by the gen, infact it may shake the genset with its vibe.

Mine came with this one by FF. Love it as it'll tell me when to change oil, when to refill petrol, i.e near to empty down etc. (H)(H)

Currently it reads 3 hours 44 mins precisely. :*
