Bought it for ?13500 and now I actually think it's a good deal considering the market for 530Ds. Man them traffic light runs are so freakin' awesome, it was just last night I had a 2013 merc slk 250 behind me at lights and I could tell he's asking for it so once it hit green I nailed it and swear down that two seater couldn't even keep up. About the 535D, to be honest we didn't for once think about it unfortunately but we came across one at auction and that was a 535D m sport with every possible optional extra and also the head up display. My brother did go to the auction to bid but it had exceeded our budget of 14500 max.

Na that is a great price! You've got the bigger screen too in that and 19s. My friend's been trying to find a good first car (he's a pilot) and i got him to choose a 5 series over an A4 (thank God). I've been trying to source him an M Sport 525D with the larger screen nav and 13.5k is impossible. He wanted his budget to be around 12-14k at the most and we're having a hard time right now. So now I've told him lets just get you a 520d and remap it

SLKs are tiny, that should have at least tried to keep up, a shame he couldn't Na, let me not take anything away from you, the 530D is a great buy! And yeah, looks like you've mostly got it all (with the exception of a pano roof)!

520D + remap should give around ~220hp which should be fine. Just enough to beat any C/E250. But the E60 525D was so much better, a real torquey motor. Its a shame they downsized from the I6 to a twin turbo I4

With the budget of 14k max, unfortunately you guys won't find a 525D M sport in that. However, 520d m sports starts from about 13000 but those would have clocked in the region of 115000-130000 miles or even more. And about remapping, I would say be very careful as doing so messes up the diesel particle filter some times as it did on my ex 07 lci 525D m sport but that car became a beast once remapped, that torque and the grunt added so much to the way the car roared and goes.

It's Peterlee that I'm from actually which is like an hour and 20 mins drive from Leeds/Bradford. Btw, I also do plan on getting the m sport body kit for my car but not anytime soon as I'm skint and and them kits are so bloody expensive. Checked on eBay for a aftermarket ones, those are in the region of 600-700 pounds and then add the cost of getting it painted, you end up spending nearly a grand.

And the blacked out kidney grills u just fit, i was gonna say you could have plastidipped those! ?15 a can. A very very easy DIY. All you'd have had to do was mask off your radiator with a large plastic sheet or something and the surrounding paintwork and then go crazy spraying the grilles with 20mins between each coat (3-5 ideally). Best thing is, even if u get it anywhere you didn't want to, all you have to do is peel it off, really is as easy as that!

You're not wrong there. They're mostly high mileage examples around 13-14k. I wouldn't buy one with such high mileage however that shouldn't go without saying that these 'german whips' (see what i did there ) still run like new even past a 100k. About over a decade ago we used to have this estate passat as a run-about with over 250k on the clock. It developed a radiator leak and needed a new one so the car was just left parked to a side, neglected for maybe 7-8 months and i **** u not, it started on first turn of the key after all that time. It genuinely shocked me. VWs have amazing build quality. Unfortunately the car was junk-yarded for only ?50 - sad end to a great story haha

My mate's not too into remaps either. I've heard also that most people that remap cars show complete disregard to the manufacturers settings and just do whatever to increase engine output. DMS Automotive are quite good with what they do though, check them out if u ever feel like trying a remap again - very well known and highly rated by everyone that's been to them.

Yeah i was gonna bring that up actually, getting an SE and buying M Sport kit, but then you gotta let the insurance know and all that crap! That's actually quite expensive for an aftermarket kit, but then again considering how much more an actual M Sport costs, could be said to be reasonable. Yeah looking at a grand easy when they start including removal and fitting of you're bumpers, too. Try to find someone who has the genuine paint when u do get around to it. Also, you could check aliexpress/baba they should have the kits and it could be a few hundred cheaper... But then again you might be looking at having to pay import duty (~5%) + VAT as well not to mention shipping...

Yeah, I have come to realise that anything under 120-130k miles is somewhat okay if taken care off and driven sensibly. My car has now got 103500 miles on and there aren't any signs of such mileage. And yeah VWs are really though and one of my mate has a 07 Passat estate with over 150k miles and it's running strong

Well I could have done that but I thought I shall keep the OEM grill as it is so that if ever I want to put it on I can straight away. However, I'm thinking of getting the rear bumper splitter painted in black or dark grey like how you get on a m sport bumper.

I'd call it a dull gloss black colour, maybe not a grey.

Yeah, i was just reading up on the bimmer forum and a guy said his has the pure white angels but has halogens? I don't get it, does the adaptive light option also come separately to the xenon/hid option? Another guy's saying he bought a '535d with a DMS remap' and was shocked when it didn't have xenons HIDs really should be standard these days - moreso because of the improvement in visibility over aesthetics! Halogens really are awful for visibility.

CONGRATS on your new ride Mashallah. I drive an E60 530i and absolutely love pushing it around bends. I only drove an F10 once and did not feel inspired much,,, dunno it feels more like a luxury sedan than a sports, if you know what I mean.. E60 it is for me..

Thanks bro! And yeah you are spot on about the confidence inspiring driving, the f10 feels much heavier and you have to be really brave to throw it in corners but then if you get one with the dynamic suspension like the one I have then things are quite different. When you put it in SPORT or SPORT PLUS then it immediately really feels much smaller and there's hardly any body roll during sharp cornering.

Here's my E60 530i in Olivin Green Metallic. Cars in Middle East come with different kind of options than in UK. Like the Hot Climate package includes more powerful airconditioning, rear window and windscreen blinds by default, cooled/ventilated seats, Bi-Xenon etc. I hardly ever see a bimmer here without these options, while I never saw them back in the UK.
