Yes. This is an absurd proposition.
We as a country and as a people have rent seeking economy and mentality.
Most of the people are uneducated/unskilled. There is almost zero "value" addition in any product.
We are mostly "stockists, wholesalers, dealers, commission agents, assemblers (wrongly nicknamed as manufacturers etc."
And any cost increase of any kind be it even in food items, we add it into our profit margin on things we are selling in our shops or showrooms. So even a milk seller increases the price of milk when price of sugar is increased.
This is the reason we cannot boycott buying cars. Since these expensive cars are always in our paying capacity. even a cloth seller will reimburse the increased cost he is paying in his car through increasing his price of cloth he is selling.
