what advantage?
when these assemblers were not in Pakistan the duty tarrifs were still there that raised the cost of a new car 200~300% of its actual price (speaking of 70s and 80s) - the old old old fancy cars you see on roads were driven from Europe to Pakistan to be sold as "london model"
You are currently paying actual global rate of corolla and civic - if this was same as 1980s tarrifs on imports you would be paying 45,000 USD for a corolla of same grade you can drive off the showrooms of Indus Motors today.
Put off your sunglasses and your touting "paid shill" because If I were a paid shill I would be chauffered in personal helicopters in Pakistan.
Your concern of "auto sector greedy etc" is a bipartisan statement of get out of this country or give us your 20K USD product for 10K because this is Pakistan dammit. Whilst forgetting that its a free economy, you are most welcome to purchase whatever you please and import into Pakistan - eventually these assemblers will pack up and leave when they have no sales,
Forget assemblers, start importing general duty everyday items too like everyday toiletries, textile and even food prep items so brands like unilever and nestle also can get lost from Pakistan as they are also protected. Meanwhile burn down local factories and industry too - because you can buy everything cheaper from outside of Pakistan.
So unless you can give a better feasible scenario from a financial point of view - please grow up and stop lapping up facebook.
