Brake fluid flush kit

i recently got this kit, is it safe to use it to flush brake fluid of modern abs cars? any special precautions to follow with this compared to the regular brake pedal pump technique?

i am sick and tired of workshops like INH and toyota making a mess of this procedure doing it improperly, bleeding into open containers placed at lower level than reservoir and then give weird looks when you tell them to do it properly, toyota people even think it makes no difference to start at the furthest wheel from the reservoir. shahnawaz does the procedure properly but charges a pretty penny and i rather do it myself.

apart from toyota i can use this without issue on cars with ESP systems as well? although it comes with a manual but any basic instructions to operate this you maybe able to give as i havent done a flush using a kit before.

to be honest - its useless for a brake flush, my old gatorade bottle and pipe was exactly 1 dollar to make (free gatorade) and my foot acts as the bull worker to pump the pedal.

I have done many many flushes with it and it still works flawlessly.

so i change the brake fluid after every year, with this kit i first use this pump to get all the fluid out form the reservoir and fill up with fresh fluid till max, then i start at the further wheel and using this pump connected to the bleeder screw bleed out all the air while topping up the reservoir as necessary would that be enough?

please guide me on this isnt flushing or bleeding the same thing, in flush you get all the old fluid out you can do so by sucking out from resorvoir or by continuing to pump the pedal, then you add new fluid and bleed all the air and old fluid out till you see new clear fluid coming out of the lines?

lastly some people bleed with the engine running and some do it off, is it necessary to have the engine and brake booster running while using either technique?

flushing is all old fluid out, new in

bleeding you do to remove the fluid near caliper areas which has taken the most beating, and to remove air from the system. you don't remove all old fluid out when bleeding

without engine running you won't have pedal assist, you don't really need assist when bleeding or flushing

be very careful when pumping the pedal with a bleeder open, do not let it go all the way to the floor as you may tear the piston seals in the master cylinder pistons specially if its an older car. Just do half strokes (normal pedal travel) and keep topping up the brake fluid in the engine room.

Your flushing bottle pipe must always be going upwards from the bleeder and be submerged in liquid to prevent air being pulled back in.

apart from the bottle method, just for knowledge i saw some kits which claim to pump the air upwards and exhaust out from the reservoir, they say it works better as air bubbles tend to rise upward in any medium so pushing them through the lines and out the cap is better? it seems reverse of what we normally do scotty kilmer also uses this method but the traditional method that is bleeding air out from the bleeder screw is as good or better right?

the reverse bleed is used mostly for clutch bleeds or on old Porsche/VW cars because their master cylinder is pretty close to the floor of the car.

There is another way to accomplish bleed on such setups - make a hoop in the bleeder hose pipe, this way you get a reservoir of liquid in the pipe which acts as a one way valve for you, (read in ancient service manuals of some cars)

gatorade quart/litre bottle is best, drill a hole in its cap, push your pipe through, wrap a hanger around its neck so you can then hang it from the strut spring/bracket/whatever - on the car.
