Fisrt thing you should know is when you press the brake pedal all the four wheels should lock. means where drum brakes or disks it works for all four wheels!
Have the Shoes adjsuted, there is an adjustment screw mechanism which is used to set the space / clearance between the brake shoes and the drums! it is properly done using a Brake Resetting Gauge but in Pakistan usually by andaza! in your case the brake shoes have much more space between them and the drums hence the pedal travel and hand brake lever issues. After all this have all the brakes at all four wheels bled properly for air
