Brake Noise problem in the new corolla

Dear All,

We are looking to purchase the new corolla. But there is one really serious concern regarding the brake noise issue. I have used (rental vehicles) and driven other new corollas. Almost 90% of the new corollas have break squeaking noise which leads to brake discs being damaged. I have heard that the brake pads are of not good quality and produces noise and also sometimes damages the brake discs.
Can anyone suggest if this is the case ? Also, what if we use other brake pad brands from the local market. What brake pads brand do you all suggest which will not create problem.
I asked someone that the genuine brake pad set (front and rear) cost around 20000 from toyota dealership while good brake pads from the market cost about 9000/- per set. Is that true ?
Need some guidance in this regard from the corolla users ?

Don't know answer to first query. But the dealership does charge more than double for the pads. They quoted 25,000 at Toyota defence for all 4 in my 2012 GLI. I got them all for 10,000 from outside.

The halki tuk-tuk noise when you lift the foot from the brake pedal? Are you talking about that sound?

Squeaking sound when you press the brake. Eventually that squeaking sound leaves behind grooves in the disc plates.

Is there another issue too with the brakes you are talking about ? 'Tuk Tuk' sound ?

Slight grooving can be normal, but deep grooving is not. The depth of acceptable grooving is specified by the manufacturer.

The squealing is usually due to lack of hi-temp brake grease on the back of the pads to absorb the high frequency vibration that we hear as squeal. Sometime high humidity conditions can cause this too, but only temporarily.

The use of anti-rattle clips and a small amount of hi-temp brake grease on all contact points of the pads with the caliper stops any additional noises.

At every service, the caliper slider pins must also be lubricated and checked for smooth operation, something that is quite often overlooked.

For example: Permatex 24125 Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant (others are available too)

Faced this problem many times but in my case the culprits are cheap brake pads using genuine now so far no problem
