Brake Squealing and wearing unevenly

Brakes on right back side make noise with each tyre rotation before getting on a high speed or applying brake. When I got it checked the first time, outer break pad was half used, and the clip holding it was broken.

That mechanic cleaned the pads and removed the clip saying it is not much needed. Mechanics said the wheel bearings are okay. the sound didn't stop.

I got it checked yesterday, and this time the inner pad was half worn the same way. So there was rust on the rotor accordingly. The mechanic insisted that I need to get the rotor clean to fix the sound, and change the brake pads. That didn't made sense to me, but I got the rotors clean, but didn't change the pads. I think the issue is still there.
What can be the cause? Guide pins are free to move.

Also, where can I get this clip? The people near walton lahore want to sell it to me for 1500. 🤣

First off your mechanic needs to be changed.

You did not say if you inspected the anti squeel shims. I had a car at one time that had intense brake noise. I found out that some brainy mechanic had thrown away these shims. Once I refitted new shims the noise was gone totally.

The shims are there. Do they ever need to be replaced?
Also, what would you say about driving without this clip? And where should I get one.

If this clip is missing or broken then certainly a new on has to be installed. No, the anti squeal shims do not have to be replaced. As they are located between the piston and pad, they usually do not get worn out. I believe this clip is called the anti rattle clip. It is absolutely necessary for the proper operation of the brake system. The part is available for 1500/-, but, you are not happy about the price. You could try Bilal Gunge.
