Hi guysI just got city 2019 manual.... it covered 335 km without any problem. However once i was parking it reverse in my garage .... a bit steep..... it gave a very heavy burning smell... at first i thought it was of tyres. But since then whenever i reverse the car..... the burning smell appears again..... any idea..... how to approach honda on this issue...needs guidance
What kind of smell is it? rubber or something else? Do you release the clutch properly?
if the issue is with clutch plate then generally its not covered in warranty as per my experience.
Since it is a brand new car, you should go to Honda.
Maybe you accelerated up the slope without releasing the clutch all the way....
I have further covered 300 kms today..... without any problem..pick up was ok .... will get it checked on my cars 1000.hrs inspection... moreover... there is no smell while reversing today...... i think that might be the smell of clutch plate not properly released.... but do just a 2 meters slope makes this much of rubber burning smell?.... will my clutch plate affected.?.... .....
If it was only once it wont affect your clutch, it makes sense that the smell is not coming anymore......Furthermore every 0 meter car that I have every bought gave a little burning type smell after long drives... even my 400 km driven Altis 1.6.... but that smell is very different from the smell of Clutch
May be some sort of short circuiting on n reversing lights.
My new city 2019 never gave any burning smell. You should consult with honda for sure.
My 2018 Honda City used to give this kind of burning smell (as paper is burning) in early kilometers while accelerating above 40kmph speed. I got it checked by Honda, they said its no problem. Later it disappeared.
