Brand New Radiator dropping half cup of water

Dear Fellow Members,

I have Margalla in spectacularly maintained condition both engine and body wise. I have changed radiator to a brand new Japanese (Double Naali). As you know its summer so AC is being used almost all the time. I travel almost 40kms daily and my radiator drops about half cup of water is it OK with the new radiator? No heat up nothing.

Is it evaporation due to hot weather in Karachi or some serious thing?

Earliest advise would be appreciated.

No. its not OK. The cooling system should not reduce coolant.
There must be some leakage.
BTW which Japanese radiator have you bought?

It might be air in the system being slowly purged as you drive. Just keep checking the level everyday. If it is still reducing, inspect for loose hoses.

Are you using coolant?
If yes then your system might have a leak somewhere..!

its not normal
chekch if the coolant can be bleeded and filled again and once its done properly
u can get it the idea
there might be a leakage in one of the pipes also
but one cuo daily isnt normal in khi coz heat there isnt dry as in lahore

I faced the same problem in my Alto after changing it's radiator, I was running it with water first and water level was decreasing so I bought a cheap coolant and poured it in to check for possible leaks, as coolant leak can be easily detected due to it's green colour.
I found two leaks in hoses and in two connecting pipes, got them replaced and now I have spotted another leak.

I'll advise you to pour some cheap coolant to detect any possible leaks and after getting the leaks fixed, top up your radiator with a good quality coolant and some water with 50/50 ratio.

try some radiator stop leak additives. My alto use to reduce coolant about a quarter cup daily after the flush and i was unable to find any leaks despite my radiator was new, all hose pipes were new, silicon applied to seal the hose pipes, heater core blocked, new clips. I poured the additives and since then no reduction in coolant level for 1.5 year.

I bought it from Suzuki authorized service center. That claimed it Japani. Rest God knows. Personally, I can spot a Japani banda but not Japanese products.

I am not using any coolant just a tap water on my mechs advise. Is it recommended? If yes which one should I go? What is the process?

How can I simply do it? I am naive about technical processes. What I understood from you post is to open radiator cap and some additive into it? Will that fix the problem?

Bhai its not problem of radiator. Check all radiator hoses. They can get wear and tear and small holes develop in them in time from which water in vapour form releases and thus your water level gets low. A quick look inside your engine bay and you could easily spot the bad hoses. It happened with me when I used a cheap hose in my swift.

You should use some cheap coolant to find the leak you wouldn't be able to find the leak until you are using water.... Use Guard coolant with a 50:50 ratio till you are not able to find the leak in the system once all the leak's are sorted out then you should use some good coolant... Also check your Radiator cap if it's working alright.!
