Brand new Suzuki Wagon R VXL or used Honda City I.DSI

If you have limited budget, don't have time to spent at workshop, small family like 4-5 people, want excellent AC and easy maneuvering, if your area has weird speed breakers then buy Wagon R vxl.

If you have 5-6 people in family, need trunk and like the city shape then go for City.

At home I had zero meter 2012 City which was given by company now it is gone after 65K+ kms, now we have 2014 Automatic City. City is spacious and it is honda thats it, i don't find anything special in it. I usually take out my Wagon R if both are available.

Wagon R has more powerful AC then Honda City, softer suspension, Equally good interior, less engine noise and better Acceleration. Wagon R is offering more in its price. I have Wagon R, done more than 15k kilometers till today and going fine Alhumdulillah. Average is 14 kms/l with 100% ac, 16.5 kms/l without ac within Karachi city traffic.

I was in the same scenario April 2015 had a budget of 1 M , i found a city total genion 42k driven in price 965k and i pretty satisfied with 2006 city i-DSi , my opinion go for City

MA SHAA ALLAH! Your car is in very good condition and you got it for a very reasonable price. I wish I also find something like this but honestly cars that are in good condition which I like are out of my budget. You are lucky that you've found this total genuine car for 965k.

If sedan is not your priority and you have no issue with boxy type shape than wagon R will be ok for you. Plus it will be a brand new car.

I think people have traveled in it on long route, its suspension is softer than city. But if you have to frequently travel to unpaved/uneven road then you better look for corolla xli/gli rather than City. Wagon R is at least more comfortable than City current model, reason is better AC, softer suspension, seating position, lower cabin noise.

Plus for city is, city will be better in Windy areas, has trunk and space to carry 4 people at back seat, with Wagon R you can't think of accommodating 4 people at back.

Wagon R will give you better mileage both on highway and City, just in case if you are concerned about fuel expenses.

To be honest, I actually like the shape of Wagon R quite alot. Especially with that accessory package, It really looks good and City I.DSI is also not that great in shape. So shape is not an issue at all. Long route comfort is a priority which Wagon R migh not fulfil as City will because its a small car. Please help on this matter that wether Wagon R is good on long routes and bumpy roads or not. Thankyou!

2. 40,000kms or 2 years warranty
3. Better A/c (Better than all PKDM hatchbacks and the new city)
4. Better and soft suspension
5. Nice fuel average considering old beaten up IDSi City or Corolla 07-08
6. Spare Parts can be bought from 3S Dealers all over Pakistan (Spares are little expensive but you'll get genuine ones from 3S so peace of mind)

I drove one and it was stable on 120km/h on highway(just for testing purpose) so yes it is stable vehicle considering other PKDM hatchbacks. No-one other than sober drives any car more than 120km/h either the guy is idiot or is high on weed.

And can we install rear power windows in Wagon R? If yes, then what will be the cost? And is there any way to get all the accessories offered in accessory package from somewhere other than dealership for lesser price?

Brother I was in same condition on January of this year, Too much researches, test drives of IDSI, Wagon R, Vitz (2008), but City and Vitz clocking 1 Lakh in ODO. But By chance I got Toyota Passo 2008 Model from my Uncle's friend, Passo was not in my list but Now I m Much satisfied with the drive of Passo, economy, comfort, Maintenance is not much high side, Suzuki scenario is different in term of parts cost rest of all brand have original parts and original parts are always expensive. So come to the point, In January WagonR price was 1090000, but after Passo purchased next week Price to 999k,

so I Decide 1 week early if I have a chance then definitely i'll purchase Wagon R...Its power is batter then JDM, In all aspect is good in this price range, you can not compare a sedan 1300 with a Hutch back 1000cc, keep in mind comparison rule always performed on same class of at least same / around Price Tags.

Honestly speaking if you are going for car life resale and don't consider the specs that much I would've gone for cultus. Suzuki's wagaon r isn't a big hit in Pakistan as cultus. City is better in that sense but this model of City isn't as good as the 2009 city. I would recommend you to increase your budget a little and go for the 2009 city.

The problem with Cultus is not only it has less features/specs but it is less comfortable and will soon be discontinued which will affect its resale aswell. Wagon R as of yet is not a very big hit but it is increasing day by day so in the near future, I think, Wagon R will be a hit. And as far as City 2009 is concerned, I like the car quite alot but this is my maximum budget right now. If I have to increase my budget, I'll have to wait for about 3 or more months atleast but I want a new car before this Eid. So City 2009+ is only a dream for me.

I would also suggest a new Wagon R. It would be much better than an old City or Corolla. If you want to confirm ride on bumpy roads, measure the distance between the front and rear wheels of a City 2008 and a Wagon R. The farther apart the wheels are the more comfortable will be the ride. As for luggage, you can always purchase a stylish roof carrier which can be removed when not needed.

You are right. I had an Alto back in 2013, I also used to put a roof carrier on it and luggage storage problem was solved. Till now I've made my mind for Wagon R but will let you know what I finally buy and if I have any query, I will ask from you guys. Thanks alot.
