Brand new Suzuki Wagon R VXL or used Honda City I.DSI

AOA! I am having a maximum budget of 11 lacs and I want to purchase a car. A friend of mine suggested me to go for City I.DSI whereas I was previously going for a Cultus Euro II, He told me so many negative points about Cultus that now I definitely don't want to consider it. But after searching Pakwheels, I found that most of the I.DSI are driven more than 100k. So now I am a bit confused that should I get a brand new WagonR or Honda City which to me does not seem to be a good choice as it is going to be quite a bit old. What do you guys suggest keeping the following things in mind:
1. Comfortable
2. Fuel efficient
3. Easy to maintain
4. Resale(though not a very big issue for me)
5. Drive on bumpy roads
6. Easy availabilty of spares

Which city are you from?
As for corolla, driving conditions and driving style and maintenance make a huge difference. I know people attaining 10 in local and others achieving around 14. If you are from kpk, go for corolla with cng. Wagon R is annoying to drive because the gear lever is too low. I was going to buy it a few months back but didn't because of the gear lever position, instead bought a passo. As a family car, Wagon R and passo are spacious but is no competition for a sedan. If you live in an area without Cng, I would advice to look into a diesel corolla. A decent 2006-08 2.0D saloon will come in this budget.
Note A hatchback will annoy you after a few years as the kids grow and need more room.

By the way Bro, Is it possible to install CNG in Passo?

Mine is First Generation and First generation Passo till 2009 model have 4 FWD gears but in 2nd Generation transmission is CVT so Many people install CNG in first Generation PASSO but I'm not installing CNG and also try to avoid CNG.

Brother a friendly advice for you. Take WagonR VXL with closed eyes. You will be more confused after reviews, suggestions, etc Its my personal experience. Get a New ride and drive with care and enjoy next 3-5 years with peace of mind.

so Go and Get Wagon R as you already mentioned that SHape of wagonR is acceptable at your end.

Who says they are expensive to maintain? Token tax is annually, not monthly

Oh sorry! My mistake, It is annually, I know. I've heard that diesel cars are expensive to maintain. And secondly CNG will soon be available so diesel is not something I want.

If it's cng that you want, buy a corolla, those are more cng friendly

@sarkaar Sir, You said Wagon R has a very good Ac and even better than City. My question from you is that does Ac affect the acceleration/pick of the car?

That depends on how you drive, variates between 10-14 local, and 13-16 long

Maintenance is pretty much equal. Pros of corolla, resale, strong suspension, ground clearance, cng compatible. Cons brakes.
For city, pros: economical, spacious, comes in auto, resale. Cons: brakes, lack of power, issues on gas

Naa karo yaar? Does City really have issues on CNG? Can they be solved or not? Are the minor or major?

I don't know man, Hondas always are annoying on gas. Suzukis work best on cng and Toyota to follow.
Well setting keeps changing in Honda, every 2nd week it needs to be tuned. This is entirely based on my observation and experience.
