I have an Alto VXR 1000cc 2004 model.
Recently my car got heat-up and then I have to change the gasket on temporary basis but the car was reducing the engine oil and starts to give blue smoke on high acceleration so I knew I must have to rebuild the engine from some good mechanic. So after some searching a colleague of mine suggested me to go to Fazal Sons Automobile Engineering in Dhoke Ratta Rawalpindi. They did good job and it was a complete engine overhaul with 0.50 new piston, bore, radiator cleaning. water pipes were rusted so they got changed and currently the TState valve is not installed but the mechanic told that it will be installed after 1000kms. It cost me around 33k spare parts from Waseem Autos in Saddar, Rawalpindi and a labour of engine overhaul of 18k with bore and head of 10k so a total of 61k.
So that was a brief overview. What I need to know from you guys is what are the things I should consider in this break-in or running period of the engine.
- I Usually travel between Abbottabad to Islamabad, so that mechanic told me to not drive initially on hilly areas. So when should I travel to hilly areas like some threshold of KM's?
- What engine oil should I use after the completion of the Running period.
- What radiator coolant should I use after completion of running period, currently they have used the water.
- How many passengers should be in car in this break-in period.
