Break in rebuilt engine

I have recently rebuilt my mehran's engine. My mechanic told me to do 500 km break in on petrol, running the car gently under 3000 rpm below 50 kph speed with no more than one passenger. What is the correct way to break in? What guidelines should i follow?

Give gentle acceleration. Drive on petrol till first 1000km. Change the engine oil after 1500km then on regular drain interval. If blue smoke comes from tail pipe dont be shocked this will be present until rings seat themselves properly. Donot cross 60km/h. Check the temperatures oil level daily. Check coolant level add good quality coolant. Dont rev the car as the internals are new and they need time to settle. Fuel mixture might be rich for first 800-1200km dont worry about fuel consumption. Just drive gently and enjoy!

Doesnt matter much by one or two people but the main thing is that engine should not be stressed as you put more weight the more engine is stressed and strained so try to be gentle till 1000-1500km.

Passengers are not a problem.
The purpose of a break in period is that you do not put load on the cars engine.
Dont use a heavy foot
Dont drive in crazily low rpms.( Keep it between 2 and 3.5)
Accelerate slowly.
Make sure the thermosat valve is installed and the temp guage stays in the middle!
Once again- light foot!

my car's fan is direct. I once tried to automate it but it started working near the hot zone and not in the middle.

break in is best done on a range of RPM.the break in procedure ive read on many international forums is drive your car slowly on first and 2nd gear.then on 3rd and 4th gear,press accelerator to n fro.i mean you accelerate then release the paddle,then again accelerate and then again release it.drive this way for about 50 kms and your engine's break in is done.there is no logic in driving at low rpms.rings seat properly up and down the cylinder when car is driven on high and low rpm in break in period.
PS.the very same break in procedure was told by Xulifiqar in some thread,if my mind serves good!do search

Probs a faulty Thermostat valve. Get that fixed as well.
