AE101 is the most practical sedan in my opinion, it's maintenance is far cheaper than any other sedan on our roads. And if you keep resale aside you'll still get a lot out of that car

I used a Liana before this corolla and maintained it from the dealership but it still had so many issues that you can't even imagine, and my corolla has crossed 70k without even giving a single issue. i own it since 7 years and it still feels like a new car when I drive it

How can you complain about the quality of a corolla after owning a Suzuki? no matter how bad the quality is, it's still far better than Suzuki.

that the main reason of liana being a flop I have search on lot on liana on pw and found the which were created in 2006-2007 in which ppl tried to suggestion that should they buy liana? and the mostly reply were don't go for it becoz it a suzuki car wow to good for a reason and I can say that this car doesn't have any quality issue @devil_smile drove his liana like 500k first 200k with stock engine than 300k with m18a(international liana/aerio engine) so his car covered about 500k he swapped the engine becoz some one washed his engine bay with water without his permission and coil issue occur (which were pretty much solvable) and don't believe me xulfiqar also said that this car is well build

Ive had a number of Lianas under my tools - they are nicely made (tall though) great for me.
The problem with drivers is that they dont care about anything in the car - in a few months, you will be changing the clutch, servicing the A/C, need new steering parts, have it a adjusted a million times. - Most causes are drivers holding the clutch on bite point which heats the clutch plate to a fully baked biscuit, they would be sleeping in the car with A/C on - overheating the engine room etc etc.

Best get a cheapo car for driver purpose - Mehran/Bolan would be best.

Let me tell you guys about a recent experience (couple of weeks ago). Please note that we got our tanks filled at exact same spots at the exact same times in Lahore and Islmabad. 5 families went to Islamabad and back on 3 cars listed below:

1- 2008 Liana RXi (129 K Kms) My vehicle
2- 2006 Honda City iDSi( 80K Kms)
3- 2014 Honda City Aspire 1.5 Auto (Less than 5K Kms)

Total distance covered was 950 Kms which included city driving in Islamabad and Lahore with full load (Luggage and full seating). The fuel economy figures were as follows:

1- Liana 12 Km/L
2- City iDsi 12 Kms/L
3- City Aspire 9 Km/L

Now keep in mind that I was the fastest of the lot as there was lots of fog rolling in and I wanted to hurry. The other two did not keep up with me although I was doing around 130 - 135 Km/h.

Liana was also the most torquey with full load on inclines and overtaking.

Now tell me about performance and Economy. Thankfully, I DID NOT listen to my friends and general public when they advised me against buying a new Liana in 2008. Alhamdolillah.

and as far as I remember your using bigger tyre than stock 195/45/15 if I am not mistaken and the stock is 185/65/14 even with big tyres nice mileage

To you sir, I suggest you buy an XEG, corolla 2001. 12 valve gives you 12 in local and 15 in long. Works good with gas as well. Can take any form of beating and survive all kinds of paths and if it's a good car, reliable as any new car

Thanks for the suggestion but I am looking for a relatively newer model car. I think a 2001 model car will require a lot of maintenance which is a bit difficult for a person with my level of knowledge about cars. That's why I would prefer a 2004+ model.

Driving style matters sir, so does car condition and speed only isn't the cause for heavy fuel. khair, I don't wish to get into further debate in this, my idsi did 18km/l in long

I drive with a heavy foot and yes cruising speed matters a lot on the motorway. Your cruising RPMs are higher on higher speeds.

I ain't being sarcastic bro, it just sounded like that. Actually people in balouchistan and interior Sindh buy AE101 ncp and adjust the suspension a bit to raise the height. They take it every where. And the car works perfectly even if there is literally no road at all. It's drive on uneven roads is awesome, that's why it's preferred so much.

I don't want to get into an argument brother! my personal experience with Liana wasn't the best, same goes for the people I know. Like my uncle who still has it in his house, Parked like a white elephant, and many other friends and relatives. on the other hand, Corolla has always proved to be a reliable companion, irrespective of the generation. But if @xulfiqar bhai calls Liana a good car, who am I to go against it? He's the Maestro, I'd just honour his words and end this squabble here.

I could agree with you on the part of interior sindh but Baluchistan :S in those area ppl preffer rwd car becoz AWD are expensive FWD car failed their badly you guy just don't know the meaning of the word your are using "road didn't exist" the thing is long but I will not extent it becoz my post will not do any but start another argument and ppl will say "saboor73 pagal hogaya hai har bat per argue kar raha hai"

Just a single question, what areas of Balochistan have you visited? I think you're confusing it with FATA or KPK. It's not limited to Quetta and ziarat. I've travelled to Iran 9 times by road, and I visit Balouchistan almost twice every year. Go and visit places like Dhadhar, Jhal and Dera Murad Jamali and don't forget to count the number of AE101s over there. It's simply incalculable.

Yes sir, By road, Our family takes our own caravan till Taftan border, and then we travel by bus, but nowadays the situation is hectic so it's not easy to travel anymore, but we still plan to go by road this summer. AE70 and KE25 are common too, but you'll find most of them in workshops instead of roads.

bro the thing is not as simple as it look the no of ae70 there was not even the half of ae70 ppl there prefer daihastsu charmant (same car as ae70) over ae70 (which is a bit cheaper the ae70) there becoz the car is same ae70 (parts,engine etc) it just like (toyota passo and daihatsu boom) so the no of the car you saw there were not even the half and the work thing I don't agree with you a ae70 is 10 doezen time more solid then ae 101 not to mention this car was made my toyota japan and not my IMC

I'm a huge fan of Corolla sir, I know it came with the name of Charmant, and it shared the platform with Sprinter 4th gen. But you seriously won't find that many AE70s there. It was a time when they were used, but after AE101 came, people started to change their preference. The number of AE101 is quite more than that of AE70. You would've known that if you had been to the rural areas of Balouchistan.

Go for a toyota passo then, economical, sort of comfortable and more friendly to your area's conditions. though its a bit low on ground clearance but a little packing never hurts anyone

Please check again. Rim and tyre sizes are not dependent upon variants like RXi or LXi but other factors.

Also note that going to 15 inch rim from 14 does not necessarily mean bigger tyre diameter. I could even fit a 16 inch rim with same diameter.
