So i was elected as president of Society of mechanical engineers at my uni and taking the post meant to start with some thing bigger and better than the old one .Entire admin is tired of me driving my loud ass 200cc Drift trike without the muffler around the campus.I was told the next project should be some thing "Green" some thing "Eco friendly".
Drift Trike - The JourneyBrainstorm - Design - Build
Beginning of 2016, the ASME team had a vision.
Today those ideas turn into reality. After months of hardwork and dedication.

i completed my last project quite a while ago and hence being a motor head i needed a new project .Some thing that would be fun to make and for sure a learning curve not only for me but also others aswell.
I started looking around various competitions in turkey and found that one is coming in near future known as " TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge" which is one of the biggest competition in turkey.I skimmed throgh the requirements since the Dead line was 2 days later i quickly grabbed an application and filled it out for the main competition thinking that my application will never be accepted .2 weeks pass and wallah .Application is accepted.and for the first time my campus will be competing .
so electric car .
HOW HARD COULD IT BE?
Its just couple of welds for the frame can easily slap in a Old motor, batteries, bike chain and i will be crusing around by the end of the month.
At least thats what i thought
QUICK TIP:READ THE RULES THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU APPLY IN TO ANYTHING.
As it turns out it aint that easy. There are a gazillion rules of manufacturing starting from the size of the car to the size and orientation of nuts and bolts that can be used.there were even rules for exact angle for the sitting position.
As it turns out other teams are working on the cars since 2-3 years and i barely have 4 months to complete the project which i haven't even started along with my busy uni schedule.
So in the last 2 weeks i gathered people made a team and now we are working day and night to design a 2 seater which can compete .
So here are the basics
Golf cart motor
self made Motor controller ,battery management system,Vehicle control unit, recharging station,Li ion battries
CNC hubs,
custom made wishbones, quad bike shocks (might alter the suspension of the quad and use it)
Recaro FIA approved bucket seats
Aluminium frame (welding al will be the hardest of the task)
all disc breaks.
plan is to make it as light weight as i can but in a budget and a tight deadline.
Will be uolodaing the details as we carry on
Wish us luck
