This thing varies from company to company. Some insurance companies won't even accept your claim. Some will say that your whole bumper will be painted. Some will damage your bumper using a hammer, and then will replace the whole bumper with a new one. Some will give you higher rates for the next year, as you claimed the insurance in the present year. You need to ask your concerned insurance company guy about this. If you have decided to claim the insurance then only go for it If they are willing to paint the whole piece. But don't let them destroy your bumper and replace it with new.
