Hi, I need opinions about buying toyota corolla 2.0D (2001) model. I have some questions, What's the chassis code for japanese and pakistani variant? does japanese came in 2001? also there are many xe, se, xeg.
Is it a good decision buying diesel 2c engine car in 2025 for long journeys - Need AC performance on long journeys and dont wana think about car getting heated up on 3 4 hours journeys,

boght similaur car u thinking about for long journeys
it didnt work out as old diesel car had constant and multiple issues. he had to eventually sell it off declaring it a bad experiment.
only hand full of good diesel corollas left if any in short

there is NO JDM diesel corolla.
Diesel Sedans of Toyota are assembled & exported from Asean countries only.

Had a first hand experience of doing that as well in 2022-23, these are too old and you just can't get them to work right anymore. Parts are expensive and not easily available, mechanics will tell you "yah aisa he hota ha icmein" on everything they can't fix. Yes if you can survive with some if and buts it can work. But for a person who wants everything about this car to be working flawlessly it becomes a pain.
