Apart from some glaring cost-cutting omissions (no second airbag, no lights on gearbox, no armrest, antiquated Android navigation unit), it has been an absolute pleasure to own a BRV (I have the s-variant). I have travelled alone from Karachi to Islamabad thrice on the BRV, travelled between Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad with eight people (adults), it has performed flawlessly, Alhumdulillah.
I am not sure why people complain so much about the BRV, I think for the price there is no alternate available for the features it provides. It is essentially a 4 adults + 3 kids (or short and thin adults) car. Or a 4 adults + 1 kid car with loads of luggage space. But we have managed to travel long distance with 2 adults sitting comfortably, and 3 sitting uncomfortably, and 3 sitting squeezed. Extreme situation, but possible in a BRV. Plus the ground clearance has been a lifesaver so in many situations.
Also, I have noticed that the gear ratios are configured for power in low revs rather than for high speed. We have a very steep driveway, and when I tried to park our in-law's City Aspire 1.5, I could smell the clutch plate. But with the BRV, it is an effortless climb each time.
For me, sedans now appear to be a waste of space and metal, when in the same price I can have the flexibility and utility of a multi-purpose-vehicle.
