Buying hilux driven 300k

Hey everyone. I'm currently in the process of buying a 300k driven Vigo champ 2012. Would you recommend I buy it? Does the engine need an overhaul? I've heard that if its driven this much then probably injector replacement along with pump service would be required. How much would that cost?. Any reliable technician for a D4D engine in Lahore.

How much does it cost generally to change the oil? I also heard that the tire change can cost me about 200k. This is my first time buying a 4x4 vehicle.

The meter has been reversed to 170k but the owner already shared that it's 300k driven. Would I face any problem if I plan on reselling it?

1. Since the seller is known to you so please convince him for an engine compression test. Take it to a reliable workshop. Get it scanned and other things checked from there like exhaust smoke, turbo performance etc.

2. Fuel injectors need replacement if producing high knocking sound at cold start and engine having rough idle. Replacement cost is more than Rs. 150,000.

3. Oil change along with filters costs in excess of Rs. 8,000.

4. Branded tyres (stock size) cost around Rs. 100,000 whereas Chinese Rs. 70,000 (without adjustment of old tyres).

Thank you so much for your response. About the compression test: Can you recommend any reliable workshop in Lahore who would perform this compression test? I dont think it would be an issue cause they told me that I can keep the vehicle for a week, and If i face any trouble I can return it.

Ideally, what should be the cost? The color is white (2012), and Lahore registered. The car wouldn’t be in very good condition as it has been used roughly by drivers.

2) Also do you think it would be any issue while reselling the vehicle since the meter has been reversed to 180k whereas the original meter reading should’ve been 300k?

Market price of used cars is one thing which nobody is really sure about these days. Sellers ask highly varied demands but you can see some car ads and try to work out an average rate.

Resale of this vehicle shouldn't be an issue. You haven't seen condition of such vehicles auctioned by govt departments. People rush to buy those, which have to be registered again and of course require lots of restoration work.

Hilux is a work horse. Go for it if condition is satisfactory and asking price is reasonable.

One more thing.

You are given this vehicle for one week on trial basis. In addition to mechanical you may also get other things checked like suspension, shocks, drive shafts and 4x4 system. Please get an estimate of all the repair work involved. These are costly repairs for these vehicles.

Nothing happens to engine. They require overhaul after 500k if periodic maintenance done.
