Buying Lahore registered car in islamabad

I have a question regarding buying a lahore registered car while living in islamabad/Rwp.

Will i have to go to lahore to get it registered in my name?
What about the token, is it payable at rawalpindi GPO?
if not how to transfer it to rawalpindi?

I"ll appreciate informed replies.

I think token can be payable at rawalpindi GPO. Some documentation and time required for the first time token submission. But once token is paid, next years token can be paid as rwp registered cars.
Not sure about if you need to come Lahore to get it registered in your name. But one thing is for sure, owner of car (person whose name car is currently registered) needs to be present for car transfer to take place.

well i bought an alto of lahore registration in jhelum in 2008 and got the return file with it. I went to jhelum GPO and token was payable there. ??I went to jhelum ETO and got it transfered in my name without any problems.
I just heard that few changes have been made recently and therefore was a bit curious.
Any knowledge of current situation?

If someone has done this process please enlighten.

every thing from excise office Rawalpindi, there is a separate booth for lahore registered vehicles
