Buying sports car for First time Need experts opinions

Hi experts. I am looking for a sports car for the very first time. The main purpose is DRIFTING and speed doesn't really matters. But since I going in for a project car for the very first time, my budget would be around 2.5-3M.
Need a hassle free car with low maintenance, as I am new in this line and want to learn all car dynamics.
Your opinions matters guys, what is the best possible option I can get ? please help

No car that is modified to drift or drag is hassle free. And low maintenance hell no. Unless it's brand new and able to drift with minor tweaks. Like a GT86.
You have nice budget get a cheap car like a ke70. Build it according to your choice except don't install an inline 6. You can still save some money which can be used for maintenance or buying any other car for build when have some handful experience.

Also I was looking for rx8, but came to know that rotary sucks and swapped cars are not compatible with the desired level of performance. Honda s660 was another option but it is basically a cool kei car and not an sport-car. Hence what more options am I left with ? Plus I want a good looking car also

First rotary doesn't s**k, person or people who told you that know nothing about it.
As i said it will your first car. So buy something cheap.
For ke70
Swap a 4age with T50 transmission and start learning.

For that purpose I would suggest you consider getting a honda civic 1998-2000 model and building it. Swap the engine, upgrade the suspension and the tyres, a good paint job along with a spoiler and body kits. Its one of the few vehicles that still looks good despite being over two decades old and has amazing handling and stability.

In the case of an RX8 you would have to swap the engine and even then it will be a huge problem in driving over speed bumps especially if you reside in karachi.

Other than that there is mark x as well which is rwd and would be great for drifting. Even in that case you would have to make few adjustments along with it as well. In any case you can forget about low maintenance as it will still be expensive to maintain your ride.

Either get a beginner drift car such as ke70, swap it with 4age 20v ST/BT as @Hassan1991 suggested, or if you want some more power and can handle it (handling big power is the most important aspect) , then get an X90 mark ii or X110 if you want something relatively newer, swap it with 1jz or 2jz ge/gte with w58 or r154 and enjoy. Those engines are made for those cars not smaller rx8 or rx7s. Mark X is a good option but i would never drift on a car worth almost 3 million in todays market.

100%. But since op is new and our roads are mostly crap try to go for a 4banger and compact car first.

there is hardly any functional RX 8 available in PK in stock setup. Stay away from MAZDA RX it will be a pocket virus and mechanics fortune.

step into drifting scene ONLY if you know basics of a vehicle in terms of engine transmission brakes and suspension. If you are a wallet holder over parents' funding, you are a thief's dream, go with your heart.

I don't know much that's why going for a low budget car to learn the all car basics. Passionate about drifting therefore want to build one.

The engine is 2500cc for the Mark x 250G, its more then enough power for drifting even if it is kept stock. You could make changes to the intake or tune the car as well to get more power. The tyres that come with it are 215/60/R16, you could get Pirelli or bridgestone tyres of size 215/70/R16. I don't think its a good idea to get 17inch wheels, just get lightweight rims that are not chinese and preferably a good brand.

In regards to the suspension I don't know which would be good for a mark x, it has a double wishbone suspension which itself is very good itself in terms of handling.

For the price of a used mark x 250G it would be around 2.5 to 3 million for a good low mileage vehicle. If you go for a freshly imported one it should lie in upper side of this range. You could go for a high mileage mark x for even cheaper, but in that case you may have to spend a lot on maintenance and repairs.

For tyres and rims it depends a lot on if you choose slightly used rims and new tyres. It should cost you around 1 lacs for tyres and rims, if your old tyres are not totally worn out and you can exchange for new ones at a discount.

Do keep in mind that if you purchase a less driven mark x you should ideally look for one that already has good rims and tyres installed. You could save a lot of money as the tyres when new are expensive but once used loose their value instantly.

Dont buy a markx to learn drifting. Buy some old beater and fix it up. After you have learnt drifting then you can get a markx and fit an lsd in it for drifting

How much does an LSD cost and from where can I get it ?

40,000 upwards. Need a very technically skilled guy to fit it and pour the right oil. Can be bought from scrap markets with no idea of its mechanical condition
