Buying Toyota Wish. Suggestions needed

Hi all,

I wish to buy a wish, yes a Toyota Wish as it has very good reviews from customers of Singapore and Malaysia. I need your valuable advices on this as how the car will perform in Pakistan. I want to get the 2007 year Wish, 1.8 liter which would cost around 18-19 lacs. Also, I am short of cash, so I will pay about 30 percent of the amount, and get 70% financed by meezan bank.

Can anyone please give their opinion on the following points? Also, it would be great to hear from someone in Pak who actually owns a Toyota Wish.

1. I am not buying it for resale, but is there any chance that its price will go down drastically after 3-5 years?

2. How is the fuel economy of the car in Pak if I only keep it on Petrol, I do not plan to get a CNG installed in it. Does it really give 15 KM per Liter of petrol as posted by some car reviewers?

3. If and when a spare part is needed, like headlight, wind shield if need be, will they be available in the market?

4. Will the routine maintenance parts be available? like Air Filter, Oil Filter, etc./

5. Is it really worth its value in terms of reliability, comfort, drive, etc.?

6. If we compare Wish with Spacio, which one will be more recommended?

Spacio is the better Probox right?

I personaly think, Wish lies in the MUV category rather then a Station wagon as a Corolla Feilder mainly because of the third seating row.

In Singapore yes ive seen many but as commercial cars only. Im not sure about its review or how would it do in Pakistan. But yes its a great looking car.

Make sure you do your homework before the purchase

As a toyota most parts would be readily avalible others would come with time, or else imported over night, Dubai, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand etc. So they shouldnt be a issue

No JDM car would hold its value after 3-5 yrs.

Yes Chinyoti, Wish does not come under Station Wagon. Fielder is a station wagon, and I also like this car. And I think in terms of resale, parts, etc. Fielder is better than Wish. But wish is a 7 seater, and is a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). But i think it will consume more fuel as its a 1.8 liter car whereas fielder is 1.5. So still mulling whether to go for a fielder or wish.
