I mentioned earlier in this thread that you can get the Lingbox EV from Alibaba (and other B2B platforms) starting at around $6,000 for a minimum order quantity of 100+ units. Inverex is probably getting it for cheaper assuming they have a distribution contract with Lingbox Auto themselves and are just not resellers like Gugo motors was for Dongfeng Box.
But let's assume they are getting it for $6,000 as well. That's almost PKR 1.7 million already in direct currency conversion in today's USD -> PKR rate. Now factor in freight charges (you can probably fit 4 in a single container), taxes and duties as well as indirect costs and some profit margin for Inverex and that price will very easily double.
If this car was available as a CKD that gets final assembly in Pakistan, there could be significant reductions in price. You could, for example fit a kits for 10s or 20s of these in that single container, significantly reducing the freight charges per unit. And also pay lower taxes and duties on parts.
But a (relatively) small company like Inverex isn't going to invest in a setup like that and this can only come from a more established player in the local market.
China is the world leader in EVs but even they can't magically make cheaper EVs so we shouldn't really expect Chinese imported CBU EV at the price of an Alto without significant incentives from our government. That's just simply not possible economically.
