I was finally able to get in touch with the sales person who i interacted with in DMC Karachi. He says deliveries are expected to start mid february from the showrooms. That is in 10 days. (My booking is for March)

BYD's move into the South Korean market is proving to be fortuitous, as The Korea Times report the BYD Atto 3 racking up as many as "1,000 orders" in its first week there.

Offered in two variants, prices for the Atto 3 range from 31.5 million KRW, to 33.3 million KRW (~RM 96k to RM 102k). That's a good chunk of change cheaper than similar-sized domestic rivals, ie. the Hyundai Kona EV and Kia EV3, both which start from 42 million KRW, ~RM 128k.

The two variants of the Atto 3 are seperated mainly by cosmetic and convenience features; under the skin they both feature the same 60.48 kWh LFP battery and 203 PS/310 Nm single front-mounted electric motor. That gives it a range of 321 km.

Yup, 321 km, a whole 99 km less than the WLTP's 420 km quote. What's up with that? Note that the given range is per Korea's Ministry of Environment's certifications, testing it similar to the US EPA test, but then adjusted further by the Ministry's own 5-Cycle formula. This formula accounts for real-world factors like city and highway driving, high-speed runs, rapid acceleration, air conditioning, and cold weather.

I honestly dont think they will deliver any cars in Feburary as well, they are misleading people and making up all stories that their showrooms will open and deliveries will be starting "soon". We should make a formal complaint.

I posted about this facelift here. This isn't released in China yet, how can we get it here in Pakistan. This facelift is expected to be launched in Q2 in China. I am expecting Q3 deliveries in Pakistan may start getting this model since we are getting CBU from China.

For now, we will be getting this version which is currently the latest global model.

It is February. Upon calling and inquiring about the car delivery they were adamant that they would contact me in mid-February, but didn't confirm whether the car would be delivered or not.

My delivery month is January and they called me to inform that the deliveries are late by 1 month. January deliveries will start by 3rd week of February. They start taking balance payments for January deliveries from 23rd January with 1 week deadline.

So most probably you will receive your vehicle by end of March hopefully before Eid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we're not getting the DM-i here anyways, right? We're only getting the fully electric models from BYD so far?

I actually tried a couple of their DM-i (including the Qin Plus which the Seal 05 is based on) and they were pretty good. Though I'm not sure if they'd be successful here in Pakistan based on the current duty structures.

Yes we are not getting DM-i models but we may get them once CKD operations start.

Future Toyota PHEVs will also use BYD's DM-i tech. You will soon see next gen PHEV Corolla with 2000 km of range.

BYD released the new “God’s Eye” driving assistance system

BYD held the launch ceremony of its latest “God’s Eye” driving assistance system. According to the company’s representatives, this update will allow every BYD car to be equipped with high-end intelligent driving technology, including a BYD Seagull hatchback with a price tag of 69,800 yuan (9,550 USD). The God’s Eye ADAS will be available in three variants with up to three LiDAR sensors.

revealed that the “God’s Eye” ADAS system has three intelligent driving classifications. The entry-level system is called “God’s Eye C”. It relies on a three-camera cluster sitting behind the windshield. As the entry-level tier ADAS system, the “God’s Eye C” will be adopted by cars under the BYD brand. This perception system will be powered by the DiPilot 100 system with a peak computing power of 100 TOPS.

Other hardware elements of the “God’s Eye C” include 12 cameras, 5 mm-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. Those 12 cameras consist of 3 front-view cameras, 5 panoramic cameras, and 4 surround-view cameras. Five mm-wave radars provide 360-degree non-dead angle perception, the front radar has a detection distance of 300 meters. The accuracy of the 12 ultrasonic radar sensors is 1 cm, and the parking accuracy is 2 cm.

The brand’s second ADAS system is called “God’s Eye B”. It provides a LiDAR sensor to enhance the perception of cars’ driving assistance system. It will power Denza and Fang Cheng Bao cars. Moreover, some flagship vehicles under the BYD brand will also adopt the “God’s Eye B”. This combination is powered by a DiPilot 300 system with a computing power of 300 TOPS.

The top-tier BYD’s autopilot system is called “God’s Eye A”. It adopts three LiDARs powered by the DiPilot 600 system with the computing power of 600 TOPS. This system will power vehicles under BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang.

Wang Chuanfu announced that all BYD models will be equipped with “God’s Eye” intelligent driving system, including BYD Seagull, BYD Qin Plus DM-i, and BYD Seal 05 DM-i models with a price tag below 100,000 yuan (13,690 USD). Every BYD car with the new driving assistance system will have Xuanji architecture with “one brain, two ends, three networks, and four chains”. It means each car has a central processor, cloud AI, vehicle-side AI, Internet of Vehicles, 5G network, satellite network, sensors chain, control chain, data chain, and mechanical chain.

In addition, BYD’s Xuanji architecture will be connected to the Deepseek R1 large model to improve the AI ​​capabilities of the vehicle and the cloud. The “God’s Eye A” and “God’s Eye B” systems support the NOA (navigation of a map) function in cities and highways. The “God’s Eye C” system currently supports only high-speed NOA. However, the entry-level system is expected to support the city NOA function in the long term via OTA update.

Sounds mostly like a China only driving assist system, which is similar to the strategy followed by other Chinese brands. They have some of the best ADAS systems in the world (specially Huawei's, which beats out Tesla's Autopilot) but they're only designed to work locally in China and aren't offered on export models.

For their export variants, they typically play safe and offer basic Level 2 ADAS systems.
