BYDâs exports soar 188% in February, global sales reach 322,846 vehicles
BYD sold 322,846 vehicles globally in February, rebounding 8.9% from 296,446 units in January, as the Chinese New Year holiday is over. The Shenzhen-based automaker exported a record-breaking 67,025 vehicles, up 187.8% year-over-year.
Company overseas sales have grown for the third consecutive month since November, when it exported 30,977 units.
To fuel its export ambitions, BYD plans to have eight car carriers by 2026. It already has four in operation, the latest being the BYD Shenzhen RoRo vessel, which was undocked on January 16 in China. It is also BYDâs largest carrier, with a length of 219 meters and a capacity to accommodate 9,200 cars.
BYD sales data include BYD-badged cars and all its three sub-brands: Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. Here is the breakdown of 322,846 sold vehicles to brands:
- BYD-badged cars (Dynasty and Ocean series): 304,673 units
- Denza: 8,513 units
- Fang Cheng Bao: 4,942 units
- Yangwang: 105 units
