i didnt mean shell. its brakes. abs in gli makes difference. it doesnt skid as bad. i have seen people bangin their xlis at signal at the back of other cars when there is plenty of distance.

^I think that he's trying to say that gli's equipped with abs have more effective braking and have a reduced stopping distance compared to xli's which skid very easily.

people have been driving abs void cars for ages in Pakistan - even old corollas, why do they manage to only crash new corollas?

Secondly wearing seat belts are considered a low dignity act.

People drive rash and then blame the vehicle, tires, breaks, etc. Never accept their fault or careless and reckless driving.

People believe that ABS will save them so speed up.

New cars are built in a way to absorb the impact and keep it away from the cabin, but in very high speed impacts it will also collapse. That is why you see cars mangled after a collision, it is a safety feature.

The best safety feature is observance of traffic rules, speed limits and careful driving + seat belt.

DONT no when people learn to wear seat belts take proper precautionary measure,and when companies will start offering proper equipments in their cars like in these ESSKALEYEZZ and GEELIZZZ which people love to buy here...

I travel on motorway weekly and whenever I see skid marks, I slow down unintentionally. Don't know why but these sights are getting common now. May the departed soul rest in peace.

Remember folks, most of the safety equipment such as ABS, Airbags etc etc in the cars even in Western world is only good upto around 60km/hr speed. Anything beyond that threshold can be deadly even in the presence of best and fully functional safety equipment. We better be careful at high speeds, not for the sake of ourselves only, but our loved ones too.

It's not only disturbing forvisitors, but also for the family of the deceased.I have heard people discussing vehicle builtquality, driving habits and moreover who's at fault, on funerals of caraccident victims. Its sheer fate and not by design to be in a carcrash. My humble request! Please let the manufacturers analyze their strengthsand weaknesses through other means and delete the pictures.

I agree! any pictures showing any blood or something should not be put up. that is the reason I blanked from my pictures above.

But to be a DEFENSIVE DRIVER and not an aggressive driver and to learn from own mistakes and other mistakes is also important. I attend defensive driving course every three years in states to keep my insurance premiums lower and I can tell you the crash scenes they show in the 6 hour class make you decide. do you want to be a safe driver or take safety in your hands. its a sheer fate but Allah has given us a head with a brain and HE has given us the ability to know what is good and what is wrong and it applies in every day life. if you apply "sheer fate" factor then no criminal should be punished.. as its just a sheer fate then. No one should use helmet while riding a bike or wear seat belt while driving a car. Or don't restraint a child in a car seat.
Just keep on doing 150MPH in 65MPH limit.. NO this is not the case. If you drive on M2, lets keep doing 120KMPH in salt ranges. Why the heck we made so much issue of two bus crashes in salt ranges where 100 plus kids died?

BTW in our country who analyze the crash? The govt officials use high end German luxury cars with best crash and safety protections, so they don't care.. the fact is all these cars assembled in Pakistan are below or I should say cant even pass a safety standard. I mean not a single crash test. . Anyway everyone has his/her own point of view and be respected..

^^ These Pakistani assembled corollas are exactly the same as any other, the body shell comes assembled from Hungary I believe, and the rest plastic bits n wiring are installed here, The RS and SRS equipment are also from japan. They function like any other country's corollas.

The problem lies with the user. e.g. if you drive without a belt in NYC - you get a ticket no matter how you seduce the cop, In Pakistan you wear a seat belt and you are constantly thinking "what will peepal say" The usual "nawaab" sitting in the back of "jeelaayee or eskalayee does not give a hoot to safety. All they want is to be carted around in a driver driven 2D with tinted windows, The driver qualifications are judged on how fast he can get from any point to another and how creative is he with "jugaar"

I have personally seen these "HIACE"/ "FLYING COACH" drivers just putting seat belt on top of the shoulder/ not even buckled. Rather its just a belt even not bolted with the vehicle body. just a piece of belt. the NHMP thinks. he is a good driver wearing a belt..

Xulfi bahee , but the same corolla like other countries don't have air bags. Corolla is with 6 standard. and Indus charge extra if you need just one available airbag I think. Do corolla comes with ESC?

corolla does not have ESP or ESC, in some countries they do have a rev limit for idle and low speed run to prevent the user (mostly a novice in a corolla) from spinning the wheels.

The WIP seats are just a fancy name for headrests that stick a bit further to actually catch your head in the event of a rear crash - like my car had recently - volvo had this as standard ever since I have seen them.

coming to the seat belt problem you mention. That is a classic case of what Im talking about - lets take a knife for example, If an entire country of users cuts their hand on the blade of it while the rest of the world does not - WHO'S FAULT IS IT?

Talk about seatbelts, a friend in a cultus had an accident with a City banging the car from the rear at a high speed... The seatbelt did save his life, the bolts on which the seat is fixed broke, and the seat was no longer fixed.
