Can somebody please tell me if 20W50 caltex engine oil is okay for my vitz 2005 new shape 1.0 model?

the mileage shown on meter is 140,000 km

Use caltex havoline formula 10w30

oh, so that's why I've been noticing a little drop in mileage (about 1km/l less average) since the oil change. thanks guys, will definitely change the oil this month to 10W30.

Actually I'm planning to take a road trip from karachi - Lahore - Islamabad in June. It will definitely be hot all the way. Will 10w30 be a good option considering my trip and weather?

go for it. it will work perfectly fine for the hot weather too

That will not suit ur car, absolutely not. U have mileage on your odo above 1 lac , so go for castrol magnetic 10w 40

any oil starting with 5W would be ideal for your ride with best mileage.
1st Choice 5w-20 (ZIC A+)
2nd Choice 5w-30
3rd Choice 5w-40 (only if you want because this oil is expensive).

And if you will keep using 20w-50, then soon you will start knowing every workshop who repairs Vitz Engines.

choona_pk : I hope your car is fine. Don't go for Havoline 20 50. 3 months ago i decided to change my Vitz 2005 engine oil from Zic Hi Flo to Havolin and right now my car, after after having not so delightful stroll through all the mechanics in Lahore is at a workshop to get its Engine replaced.

If your engine is weak then the Havolin oil will certainly help it along to its end. Mr. tintin up there is right.

Try Shell semi synthetic 5W30. Anything more than 5 is too thick and too viscous.

5w-40 Or 10w-40.....Get The One Which Matches Your SAE Recommendations Too...Just Don't Look At Viscosity Only!

Also Note That Using Too Thin Oil In Weak Or Old Engines Result In Oil Reduction/Burn/Leak Issues Also....!

i can also recommend valvoline oil with similar grade, me any my friends have used it personally in isb, and its amazing, engine become smoother, quiter, runs beautifully.

My vitz 2006 is clocked at 102000 km, Toyota Guys suggested me to use Toyota Petron 20W 50 multigrade. I have opted this, now Lets see the results. So far mileage is not dropped in one month usage. Engine is quiter. Pick didnt reduced.

I am using 10W-30 in my 2005 vitz.
Car crossed 150,000 KM
But I think when these cars are imported to Pakistan; millage get tempered by dealers.
