I have 2003 Model Se Saloon in Automatic Transmission with 3ZZ-FE engine. It's 200,000 km driven. Recently, the engine started vibrating and there is also loss of power. Auto-Electrician checked all injectors which were fine. He then check electric coils and spark plugs and found that one spark plug was flooded with engine oil. He is suggesting Engine Head and Assembly replacement. Another mechanic suggested same.
Now, I have heard that not many 3ZZ-FE engines are available in good condition and they are quite costly as well. So to keep costs to a minimum, one of my friends has offered me a genuine 2NZ-FE which is lying around in his home, and it was driven around 100,000 Kms when it was taken out of his corolla GLI which he upgraded to 1.8L
Now, I want to ask the experts if the 2NZ-FE engine is compatible with the original automatic transmission gearbox that came fitted with 2003 model Se Saloon Automatic?
As we all know that in the current version of corolla 1.3 Gli Automatic, engine used is 2NZ-FE, so whether the automatic transmission gearboxes of both cars same?
If not what other cheaper option do I have? Thanks in advance and please anyone who is a expert in this field. I have heard of @Xulfiqar only
