Can a non-filer purchase used Aqua?

AOA members, because of the confusion regarding non-filers and filers & purchase of vehicles and the rules being changed quite a few times in the past few months... I cannot figure out if my father, a non-filer, can buy me an Aqua now. My question is can a non filer buy a used imported car like Aqua? Does it have to be registered or unregistered? Please guide me as to what the current policy is. Thanks a lot.

Yes...non filer is more privileged than filer now...he can buy any car without showing the source of income..good luck

I thought you were being sarcastic brother, I have searched and asked a lot of guys (at least those I know) but nobody has a clue. I am genuinely confused because of contradictory articles on the internet. I don't want to get into filer non filer debate.. I just want to know if my father can buy me this car without any issues? Yes u can buy... no issues...as of 13th March...u are allowed to buy..tax values are higher though

Bro a bit of confusion, I was reading up the 2nd mini budget and according to that non filers can only buy locally manufactured vehicles irrespective of cc. Aqua isn't locally made... What to make of this?

Bro since new imports are virtually stopped...get a registered one and transfer it to ur name..thats 100% allowed and u will save good amount.. ur point does make sense and govt policies are really confusing

imported vehicle can't be registered on non-filer's name, however an already registered vehicle can be transferred on non-filer's name.

Yes, I came to know about it when I messaged Suneel sahb and he told me. Already registered car can also not be transferred to non filers name. Since I am a student and have no taxable income I cannot be a filer, so my elder brother is going to become a filer and I'll get the car that way IA.
