Can Baleno power steering drain out battery?

Greetings dear members, I need an advice on my Baleno draining out battery. I had 60 amps battery which I thought needed replacement so installed a brand new battery but the problem is still there. Battery stays empty.
Just a month ago I had to replace power steering pump that I purchased from Bilal Gunj and was not genuine. Since then, I'm having battery issues. My question is, does power steering run on battery?
Does the issue have anything to do with power steering pump? If not, I'll get charging system checked only.

No - Baleno has HPS.

If your alternator is located below the pump, there is a probability that PS oil leaking into alternator can cause it to malfunction.

he said it's not genuine so i guess he is running EPS not HPS.

Maybe you messed up alternator drive belt while installing HP's punp

Yes dear Fahad, exactly this happened. The electrician found out that the oil leaked from the hydraulic power steering pump broke the generator's circuit and that the generator needs replacement. It costed around 3500 to replace the generator and since then, everything is fine.

But the power steering makes buzz noise, more than one could ignore. I hear the motor running while I turn the steering. Never heard this before. The mechanic said to use some thick PS Oil. I shall check if that works. Any suggestion on this will be very highly appreciated.

Thick oil will do nothing,either power steering pump is defective or there is a blockage in hydraulic system.

thicker oil == more noise;

always remember that ATF and hydraulic oil will remove carbon, if it drips into your alternator the carbon brushes dissolve.

The noise you hear from the pump is air in the pump - firstly remove the power steering oil container from the car and wash it with petrol and blow it out with gentle air pressure but backwards - there is a filter screen in the bottle which can clog from dirt etc and will cause low flow to the pump which in turn will make the pump noisy.

The other problem maybe that your system is sucking air from the return line of the power steering - inspect the entire return line for any wet spots or loose fittings.

hii everyone. i just repaired my power steering of baleno. Nothing wrong with the pump but the lines were leaking. i had to pay 4k for the repair. Isnt it costly ?
