Can I change Engine Oil10w30 to 5w30?

I have toyota vitz 2014 model, i have been using Engine Oil of grade 10w30 for last almost 3 years driven 83k. I feel lack of power in engine and discussed with one of my friend he told me that you are using 10w30 engine oil that is why car's engine has to do more work as 10w30 has more viscosity, so you shall use 5w30 which is less thicker than 10w30. I want a genuine opinion from here shall i move to 5w30 from 10w30. will i make any difference and is it recommended to change the grade of engine oil now?

you can change the grade if you want
but there will be no difference, because viscosity at operating temperature will be same
for better performance, switch to 5w20 rather

Yes u can switch. Go for total quartz 9000 .fully synthetic. I used in my 68000km gli

you can switch to 5/30, no problem with that..
but i don't think this engine lack of power is only due to thicker oil..
did you get your catalytic converter checked?
when was the last time you had engine tuning done ?

Change operating temperature grade rathar than the winter grade. 10w is perfect for pakistan.

You can switch to 5w30, but there is no harm if you continue with 10w30.

Loss of power is probably due to some other reason

it's normal, if we compare Noack volatility, 20w, 10w, 5w and 0w, the weight loss% increases as we lower down the base viscosity

either top it up with regular intervals, weekly, monthly depending upon your usage patterns (it's ideal), or switch to 10w oil again
